Hi,
My name is Michele Ivey. Though on the net, my friends know me more as
Donatello or just Ivey. I've been a fan since Oct. 1989 of the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, I was only 11 when I first started watching their
cartoons and collecting their toys, and through the Turtles I've learned
to read, defend myself, and got many friends.
I'm writing this, to be able to say Hi and tell you how I feel about
your online comic you're doing of the Turtles. First of all, I have to
say I love seeing something get done with the Turtles. Many times
things have been said and have fallen through which has hurt a lot of
turtle fans, infact when I first heard of this, the first question that
came to mind was, 'Is this for real?'. I went right to the web page
and there enough, I saw it and was just amazed to see a comic in the
making.
I like the layout of the comic, a turtle sitting back to read, the
others coming in wanting to play and the one not wanting too, so is
picked on by the others. I like the jokes in there, and the fight
scenes between the brothers. Though when I first read "Sister Sue" my
mind drew a blank, as to not knowing who that was, but as I read on I
realized it has to be someone the Turtles knew... and I'll like to learn
more about these 'Sisters' they're talking about, so I'll be checking
your page weekly.
If you don't mind, I'll like to make one comment on your personalitys
for the Turtles. You got Raphael GREAT! I love how he comes in wanting
to play and not wanting to wait, to where he took the dairy and
challanged his brother. Though this is where I feel a little differ
from you on characters. I would see Donatello or Leonardo more likey to
turn down play for reading.
In my opinion
My personal intake on Michaelangelo is he is the playful one, the one
that likes to party and have a good time over reading, at least when his
brothers and friends are around. Mike hides his calm side from the
others in so many different things. It shows in his Ninja training as
the one to need to learn to slow down, and in the first Turtle movie when
Donatello asked Mike about what Splinter said, he rubbed it off...
Mike's the type to put things to the side to try to enjoy life for the
moment. Though for the part you got Mike in, I could really see
Donatello in.
As my years as a Turtle fan, I've done a lot of TMNT events. Including
taking the part as a Turtle from March 1991 to August 1993 doing Birthday
parties. I wasn't lincesed to do this, so in August 1993 we tried to get
a lincese, by going to Mirage Studios though they didn't have say and
this guy in New York, named James Cohan had the rights. He told me no,
because of my age at the time. Though for those years I played
"Mikey : The Party Turtle" and really became one with Michaelangelo.
Just figured I'd let you know my opioion on that. Otherwise, I love
the comic. As I said earlier, it's GREAT to see something being done
with the Turtles. We're holding a convention, I know it was brought up
by Savanti Romero in the Guest book, really we're just holding a booth at
a convention. If you'll like to learn more about that, check out the
URL below.
Also feel free to keep in touch with me. I love meeting people who are
fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And I run a chat room on
dalnet, called #TMNT. It was the first TMNT chat room on dalnet, founded
back in Nov. 1995. Feel free to join us anytime.
Take care, and I really do hope to hear from you.
