Contest: Win Test Drive: Eve of Destruction

What's the matter? No chicken farms or hearses running a gauntlet in Burnout 3? Cars too pretty? Not enough mullets? Or maybe you can't get enough high-speed destruction?

Turn that car backwards (you can take more damage that way) and let's go for a ride. The Next Level is giving away two copies of Test Drive: Eve of Destruction, one for the Xbox and one for the PS2.

Read through our review of the game for starters. Then all you have to do is send an e-mail to contests@the-nextlevel.com, subject line "Test Drive Contest," with your preferred console (again, PS2 or Xbox - or both) and one of the three player nicknames I mention in the review. The winners will be chosen at random from among all eligible entries after 7 P.M. Eastern Time on Thursday, September 30, 2004, and contacted via e-mail.

Only one entry per person. TNL will only ship the prize to an address in the United States or Canada. And most importantly, The Next Level reserves the right to change any rule or any other aspect of this contest or disqualify any entrant at any time. Entries will be accepted through 6:59 P.M. Eastern Time September 30. Your e-mail address will not be used for anything other than this contest.

But really, getting this for free would kind of be like getting AIDS: You don't pay for it, but God does it ever suck.

Done, maybe I'll luck out and win. The redneck side of me would love this game, in a Destruction Derby kind of way.

Sorry, but the game is actually not bad. Don't judge it by the color of it's neck, if that's what you're doing. The multiplayer is fun, but the single-player is strong, too, as far as racing games go. It's not a classic by any stretch, but neither is every movie you see or every other game you play. Just have a good time with it if you play it.

You can never argue with something free, the fact that Nick's just giving stuff away left and right is pretty stellar. w00t w00t

Another thing: don't think for a second that I wouldn't appreciate it if I won. I would, and I think it's kick ass you give stuff away like this. I just want to give the game a little bit of a hard time as well.
