That's pretty sad, considering the entire point of forming a corporation is to make money.

Exactly, make money above all else. I see this philosphy as wrong, you may not. Not sure what is so sad about that.

Anyone else read Terry Pratchett's new Diskworld book, Gone Postal? A lot of points in it tie into this particular exchange quite nicely, plus it was one of the better books in the series as well.

I'd rather be a petty thief than a board member of RIAA, WalMart, or any of those other companies/organizations. Admitted, I haven't pirated a game in years now, but if I had to choose it wouldn't be too hard to do. Except for the temptation of all the millions of $$$ I'd make, of course.

It always amazes me how people see maximizing short-term profits is more important than developing your long-term interests.

I was more refering to the fact that you cannot install the game on your computer if it detects a CD burning program like Easy CD Creator or Nero. And calling somebody a nazi does not imply they burn jews...get some context.

You never know when it may start doing so. With the MPAA probably getting in on the act hence the Rated I for Illegal Download ad, I wouldn't bet against the ESA following suit (bad pun, I know).

You do realize that philosophy keeps companys from going bankrupt, right?

So um... what's a corporation supposed to do if it dosen't make money?

Really confused here, curse EA for making money and stopping people from stealing their software :confused:

But of course people will say whatever just for a chance to come down on "teh evil" EA, if he was taking something like Katamari Damacy he would be "OMG EVIL"

I agree.

Hey -- I understand why people pirate: it's cuz they're either poor or don't feel whatever it is they're pirating is worth the money. My advice is to do what people did back in they day: do without the thing you can't afford or don't feel is worth your goddamned money, you cheap fucks.
