I kill copy protection on every PC game I install. It's my property, I made a full install, I'm not having the stupid thing slow down my PC every 3 seconds because somebody is feeling paranoid. Of course, at this point we've gone from talking about getting nabbed P2Ping it to legitimate complaints about idiot protection schemes that just plain don't work, but why stop now?

I'd rather be "a greedy multinational corporation" at least I'd get paid well. Or cook the books well enough to recieve a profit on my taxes ^-^. Only stuff I download is stuff I cannot rip myself (ie DVDs cause my pc has no dvd/cd drive) and tv shows/anime not sold in the US.Quote:

Buying 2nd hand is no better than piracy. Its robbing the creators just as much. The only difference is that some douche is getting your money for it.

When half life CS first came, years ago, I went and bought it, but after moving house, it was lost, and so I downloaded it, but steam was a bitch and would not let me in with a generated serial. But you lost the game. While I understand your problem, it ultimately boils down to you losing your own property. If you dropped some cash in the street one day and couldn't find it, would you just expect the bank to give you more money for nothing?
