Bubble Bobble Old & New

I just picked this up today at K-Mart of all places. It's only $20 and includes the original Bubble Bobble but also has a "new" mode that has new stages, enhanced graphics, and remixed music. Bob and Bub now make little vocal exclamations when they grab fruit and have a new "anime" look to them. The game saves your progress (including power ups!) in new mode and lets you collect items that are displayed in a gallery. Collecting them unlocks things like a CPU-controlled Bobblen. There are two save slots.

You can play multiplayer (2 players) with one game pak in old mode but need two paks to play multi in new mode.

I'm liking it so far. I bought it for the wife as she has aced all the Marios and Kirby and is finishing up Pac-Man Collection.

If I wanted to play Bubble Bobble I would play it on my TI-83.

insta-buy! One of my favourite games ever. This and Lolo are just outstanding. Beating this game with the proper ending is just so freaking hard.

Just the other day I was wondering if this game got cancelled. Cool, if it wasn't for the onslaught of quality holiday software I'd track it down right away. *-neo

I didn't even know this came out here. I need to get on this. There are no K-Marts around and I've never seen it in a specialty store, so I guess I have some detective work to do.

If I can find this, I'm all over it. $20 is a damn-good price for classic gaming action that's hard to replicate today.

I'm glad this made it's way over here unlike Elevator Action Old & New. Despite my GBA pile of shame I really need to track this down ASAP :)

did Elevator Action(Old&New) hit the states yet? The new version of that game is an insta-classic. pure sidescrolling bliss(almost as good as EA:Returns)
