Schwartzenegger Bans Foie Gras in California

Ah, bullshit. Schwartzenegger's just signed a law banning the production and sale in California of traditionally-made foie gras, effective 2012.

Foie gras is made by force-feeding geese until their livers become gigantic.

Foie gras tastes great. It is produced in a somewhat brutal and cruel way, but these geese hardly live a life worse than the chickens churned through some corporation like Tyson's mega-farms. Neither the sources of foie gras nor the sources of McDonalds' Premium Chicken Selects lived a comfortable life, but at least the geese died to make something worthwhile. Stupid anti-elitist pandering.

He's trying to starve out the rest of the republican party so he can seize power for himself. I like his thinking.

I'd actually like to see those chickens treated better. =/ You don't have to stack 150 of those fuckers in little cages out in the hot heat of Mississippi to kill them and make food.

Being the middle chicken in one of those things would be like pure hell. Hot, everyone is freaking out, and you have 20 people above you so freaked out they are shitting all over you.

I'm all for eating meat, but shit, some of that stuff they do is mean and not needed to make my chicken mcnuggets.

I seen some pretty funny chicken farming videos in school. It wassn't supposed to be funny but I got cracked up at how its such an assembly line for em. Kinda like Odd Abe. The one scene that cracked me up was when they filled the crates with baby chicks. They had this big faucet that litterally poured out chicks till it was full. The sorting of the males and females was funny too.

Eh I got told I was a sick fuck a few times for laughing at the death seens in audio plays in lit class.

Foie Gras is very good, but the way it is made is, obviously, terrible. I would have much rather he banned the production of veal, which is much worse, cruelty-wise, then making foie gras.
