MYSTERY SOLVED!!
Okay, saw it tonight, and just read through this whole thread up from the spoilered parts.
I liked Revenge of the Sith. It was a sad, tragic story and some of the best stories usually are.I agree with Dylan and Dole, in that the Jedi Order just werent handling the whole family/love thing very well at all. When Anakin went to Yoda for advice and Yoda told him to seperate himself from having all loved ones and from fear of loss, that fact became clear to me. He honestly should have gone to Obi-Wan for help and advice - Padme mentioned it, and I think Obi-Wan would have helped him out - after all he did "love him like a brotha." That and the deleted scenes prove that he knew what was going down between the two. The fact that he didnt sell them out shows he would have helped.Sucks that Anakin had too much of an ego to ask for it. So yeah, it was the Jedi's time to go down, and Luke would have never beaten Vader (and Vader would have never beaten the Emperor)if not for love of family which shows just how wrong the Jedi were in their older teachings.
Anyways random rants that probably have been mentioned elsewhere, but I might as well type it out to get it off my chest:
- Was I the only one who was annoyed by all the banter from all of the droids and robots? They were just talking WAY too much on Greivous' ship. Hell, even the vulture droids and buzzbots sounded like they were trying to say shit...in space....
-R2's bullshit/oil slick and rocketbooster jetpack crap was ridiculous. I half expected a GO-GO-Gadget boxing glove to pop out and right cross one of the other droids.
-The whole R2 vs. Buzzbot scene.Only thing that couldve matched that in lameness was a Jawa vs. Womprat scene. I lost a deleted scene of a crazy Yoda and Chewbacca vs. clones match for this. The whole buzzbot thing seemed drug out - just show Anakin shooting them off the ship and move on.
- I thought it was really cool that Grievous was reeling from his encounter with Mace in CW.But one of the friends I went with, she had no idea why this robot was hacking and weezing like an old man. It probably should have been left out , and I would have preferred to see Grievous take on Obi-Wan at full strength. And why did I never notice GG's vital organs were so easily out in the open? Was that all it took is a simple "uncivilized" laser blast to kill this Jedi Killer the whole time? How ironic.
I did think it was cool to see Greivous go a little into his crazy-style from the CW eps.I wanted to see him hold a saber in his foot though, dammit. I was expecting the worse case scenario from this character, thinking that Lucas would give him no air time, and a quick death, but he had a little more than that and I am glad. Oh, and I kinda didnt like his Robo-Russian accent in this movie either.
-OMG, I saw the Millenium Falcon on the bottom right too , Mr. K :D - no Billy Dee though :(
- I loved the Dooku fight and the constant battle Anakin was having with the duality of his conscience from then on out. Hayden threw out some good acting in this one. I fucking loved his "I HATE YOU!!" line while he was burning to Obi-Wan - the only laughable scene in this was the aforementioned balcony, " I Love you - no I Love YOU XOXOX" shit.
The rest I thought was well handled. I really did feel for Anakin and his plight. even though now, I think the dreams he was having about his mother and Padme were Sidious influenced ( fuck I'll bet Sidious had something to do with the sandpeople getting their hands on Ani's mom). Which goes to show how tragic this was. His whole life was just as a pawn of Sidious. He played Anakin like a harp.
The switch over to the Dark Side for Vader, did seem a bit quick at first. But I think it was done really begrudingly on Anakin's part. He did what he felt he had to do to save Padme. A lot of people hate their jobs, and I dont think he got any pleasure killing the junior Jedi - it was just a job he had to do - and means to an end. We see him crying later at Mustafa or whatever the fuck that place is so we know he's having trouble with it. He doesnt really flip out until confronted about it by Padme and OW. So in summary, I dont think Vader EVER did change over to the dark side totally - Padme's last words said she thought this too (He never had the lightning bolts out of the fingertips power like his two predecessors either). I just think he's really lost and clouded thanks to the Emperor. And After Padme died, he is pretty much at a 'wtf do I do now' point and taking his agressions out on everyone from EP IV onward.
Anyway, the story came full circle for me and I did like how it was handled.
- Ewan MacGregor was awesome. All of his delivered lines were well acted from the sad quotes at the destroyed Jedi Temple to his harsh convincing words to Anakin on the lava planet. :tu:
- I'm glad that the rumors, I'd heard about Dooku being Anakins dad were false. The Anakin/ Dooku fight in front of Sidious did kind of parralel the Luke/ Anakin fight in RotJ, visually, so that's where I thought this was leading. So the Darth Plagus being Anakins dad thing threw me off. I guess that explains a little as to Anakin (and Lukes) rebellious attitude - their daddy/grandpappy being a Sith Lord and all. And therein lies the balance --- Blood and genetics (Midochlorians be damned) of a Sith mixed with some love, good intentions, and teachings of Jedi = balance.
- I liked that Vader force crushed everything in his vicinity when he heard the news about Padme - but after doing that he should have just been silent and went to his knees or something.
- No scene of Yoda getting to Dagobah and no scene of Obi-Wan talking to force ghost Qui-Gon. What a cocktease. The fact that forceghost Qui-Gon was mentioned , to ME meant that we were going to see a conversation , so when the movie abruptly ended, I was all like "FUCK".
-Whats up with the lizard hate here? seriously, it wasnt that bad. He could have been riding around on some lame vehicle, I guess. I liked the lizard.
- When Anakin and Obi-Wan were landing the remains of GG's ship was I the only one who thought Yoda would force catch the thing and save them instead?
What else? Oh,
- I hated seeing Yoda bitch out at the Senate fight. He came on strong at the begininng of the match-up. The theater LOL'ed at the red-guard walk-in force crunch, so it blew seeing him get worked like that in the end. I mean he was jumping around like the little frog dude he is the whole match-up, but he gets discouraged and tired from a little fall? I'm going to just assume the events of the whole movie just finally took its toll on the little guy in the end...
Jetman sums what i think of the movie...
btw:
Where is the Millenium Falcon? I missed it, i must see the damn thing again for that shit
Question: it's been so long since I've seen II and forgot a lot, so how was Palp able to so easily turn the Senate against the Jedi? And the rest of the Senate (or some at least) don't know that he's a Sith Lord?
It's really quick, man. Like right after they crash land GG's ship on Coruscant just keep your eyes on the bottom right of the screen and you'll see it flying in for a landing.I think its right before Obi-Wan drops Anakin off at the (was it the senate?) - where he sees Padme for the first time in the movie.Quote:

The way I understood it, as isolated and on a high pedestal as the Jedi kept themselves from society - the Senate just didnt care to see them go,and maybe didnt know them well enough to think that they wouldnt try to assassinate Palp. Only the people who were close to the Jedi like Organa knew better it seemed. And I doubt the people in the Senate even knew what a Sith was. It's been a while since Sith were in power so everyone may have just thought they were nothing but legend and story.Quote:

I think Yoda knew that it would take his own life to beat Palp. He had to stay alive to pass on what QuiGon had taught him. Also, if he did kill palp, who would have stopped Darth if he beat Obi Won?
I'm telling you guys, the Millenium Falcon is a type of highly marketed ship in Star Wars :PQuote:

Basically Exar Kun made Darth Vader look like a little girl and killed a whole lot of people until he was murdered by his convicted Sith Lord buddy. It just seems (Even though it was 4000 years before the original trilogy) would be included in the history that people in the modern trilogies would know about.Quote:
