Lucas announces one final Star Wars film
Hollywood, California- Putting to rest months of rumors and speculation, Star Wars creator George Lucas announced that he would be writing, producing, and directing one final installment of the hit sci-fi series. Word is that the film will be a bridge between the events of Episodes 3 and 4 and will cover the early adventures of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet of Tatooine after delivering a infant Luke Skywalker to his Aunt and Uncle to be raised.
Declining to reprise the role he played in the first three Prequels, Ewan MacGreggor will be replaced in this currently unnamed Star Wars movie by Hollywood veteran Jeremy Irons. "Jeremy is a perfect fit for the part," Lucas was quoted as saying. "He's a versatile actor and is a little more appropriate age-wise for this chapter of Obi-Wan's life that I intend to tell."
The movie is said to be more lighthearted than Episode 3, and includes a special emphasis on Obi-Wan's battles with interglactic gangster Jabba the Hutt, the vicious Sandpeople, and his deep, longstanding friendship with the adorable little Jawas.
