It could have something to do with Obi-Wan not using his lightsaber for 20odd years. Maybe. I'm more interested in how they get around the droids not seeming to remember anything from the first trilogy.

And that trailer... some of the CG didn't look... I dunno... finished.

Well and he is old. But more importantly, Obi-Wan was just wasting Vaders time so Luke could escape.. I dought he was any match for Vader at that point, and knew he was more of a help to luke being struke down.

I'd like to see a cut of this movie that's just every battle scene strung together with all the awkward dialogue and bad acting cut out.

haha. Yea but he is the original. If you notice also in his battle with Vader towards the end of the first part of their duel Obi-Wan's lightsaber tends to stop glowing. But it was 1977, oh well, I guess they did their best considering.

I still think the special effects in the first series are better than the new. At least in the space scenes.

Completely agree with you. The new ones are too crowded, a lot less realistic-looking, ships move in stupid ways, and the way they are "shot" isn't followable drama. They're shot like all these assy fight scenes with "shaky camera/fifty cut" syndrome.
