Honestly. though - the day after it came out that scene is all anyone talked about. They even made the post-release advertising center around it because they figured that would get more people to go see it.
I remember this guy at work freaking out about it and giving us every detail. When asked about the rest of the movie, he just shrugged, said it was okay, and then told us AGAIN how the Yoda/Dooku scene played out.
I thought the scene was decent, but had seen enough footage in the ads and heard about it so much that it wasn't a surprise for me. The crowd at my theater went crazy and started clapping during the whole thing.

You didn't like Yoda fighting, I liked it. Simple as that. But hey, you're a well read fanand you obviously like to read, and since we're on the "nerd" tangent, sorry to break it to ya but Yoda was a little frog creature. Yup. A very well conceived character but nonetheless, a frog with pointy ears. Always has been, always will be. In fact, not joking but have read more than a few times Lucas quoted where he is specifically asked this and says "Yoda is a frog." So I'm sorry the decision to have him fight and jump broke your sacred "Yoda is a briiliantly written, peaceful zen-like allagorical figure for the mysticism around us" illusion for ya. :) I'm guessing you also were "registering your digust within seconds on the internet" about how Lucas ruined your childhood when we saw ETs in the senate in TPM for .005 seconds?

That new trailer... I just saw Robots and they played it. It makes this game look insanely amazing. That TINY glimpse of that HUGE space battle looked insane.
I think Lucas saved it all for this movie. It looks amazing.
I'm not too proud to admit that my favorite scene with the little green guy is the one where Luke meets him for the first time and Yoda just totally messes with Luke and R2 to test Luke's patience. Ya see, that way I can enjoy the movie with my friends who don't take the movies quite as seriosuly as I do.
Luke disgusted and ticked off at Yoda complaining about how his XWing is stuck in the swamp.
Yoda digging through Luke's supply case: "Ohhhhh...cannot get your ship out. Heh heh heh."

I'd like to see one of you assholes tell me these new Star Wars movies are good to my face. These new ones are bull. shit. I don't care what you think these movies are "supposed to be", but in my opinion, they're supposed to be good. The only thing I can add to this discussion is that both times I saw AotC in two different theaters, both audiences laughed derisively at the Yoda/Dooku fight. I laughed because it was sort of silly, but at the same time it was kind of cool.
I'm much more looking forward to him fighting Sidious in the Council Chambers.
They're good. They've kept me moderately entertained so far and I'm pretty excited about Episode 3. They're by no means great or anything, but it's interesting to see the story. Hell, I didn't even have a problem with the "rough sand" thing.Quote:
