I remember seeing the lizard thing as an action figure and hoping it wouldn't really be in the movie. Same with GG's wheel speeder thing.

I guess you just have to look at most of this shit as potential toys and merhcandise. Lucas has to make his money somehow.

Why are you so jaded? Did your mother drop you as a child?

GG's wheel vehicle really pissed you off that much? It's presence really had a noticable effect on the quality of the movie? It wasn't even like it was a lame vehicle. Everyone has to find something to complain about I guess. I mean, reading this thread is almost painful. If it's not the opening text crawl it's the fact that Padame's hair wasn't perfect, or the computer animation was too good, or not good enough, or the lizard thing wasn't lizardy enough. I realize I'm saying this on TNL, but for once can you people not complain about the stupidest, most insignicant bullshit that, when it comes down to it, could not have possibly affected the movie so much as to warrant the time to type out the post it appears in, much less think it. Sheesh.

I enjoyed it, didn't think it was fantastic, but I did think it was good. All in all, I'd say the Clone Wars cartoon kicked the shit out of it though. Especially when it came to how Grevious was handled. He was a fucking bad ass in the cartoon, not so much in the film. I guess what I liked the most was how the little details came together at the very end.

A lot probably has to with seeing blockbusters and then seeing store shelves. You'll notice a distinct correlation after a while.

Truthfully, the first thing I thought of when I saw Obi-Wan and Grevious racing their distinctive alien land-based vehicles was, "Toy designs!" as well. Compare this to Episode I and pod-racing, which had visually similar hover-based alien vehicles which made me think, "Videogame!"

Yeah, but at least the pod racers were kinda cool. Can't say the same about the lizard + rollerball.
