Time Management

If I have one demon in life it is my lack of good time management skills.

It was all fine and dandy to be like that in grades K through 12, but it is now getting in the way of the things I want. It is really hard to study advance engineering topics and have fun in college if you can’t manage your time.

Many of you have very nice jobs, wives, and kids. To enjoy such things you must have good time management skills.

I was wondering if some of you older folks, and some of you more studious students, couldn’t share some tips with me on how to manage my day better.

Do 2 things at the same time.

I've actually read up on that. Statistics say you actually waste time doing more than one thing at a time, if those two or more things share similar mental processes.

Not really. Just something I found while looking for a book one day.

I was thinking more along the lines of eating and studying or driving and listening to a study tape, Brainiac.

nah, doing trig and essays at the same time.

When I can get the dough, I'm going to invest in one of those swank daliy planners.

That way, all your chores, events, study hours will be in one large schedule so you'll know which ones to dodge and/or forget about.

But seriously, having your responsiblities and the like already written down in an easy to follow planner is the best first step to time managing. How much time you've got to do said events is another hurdle, but you've got to start somewhere.
Now if can just practice what I preach.

Plan out a schedule and stick to it. Easy.

study drunk
