Heh, I just stumbled upon my copy today while cleaning up my closet. It's a decent game really, even with the patches. The characters are great across the board, better than pretty much any RPG I can think of, it was a clever translation of the PnP game which I had too much experience with, but the world design was lame, and the overall game was technically clunky, doing much harm to the atmosphere. It needed a better engine and more money, but then that's true of most games.
My turn to bump this thread. I finally got around to playing this. Played through once as Tremere now I'm enjoying a playthough as Malkavian (which is incredibly awesome, I love the insights that only really make sense if you know the whole story already). I'm sad that I waited so long to play this game, it's absolutely fantastic.
Seriously TNL, what is wrong with you all, why hasn't everyone here played this game multiple times? Everyone here loves Deus Ex, well this is more of that time (it's a million times better than Deus Ex: IW).
This is $20 on steam, no excuses, get over there and buy it immediately if you don't own it. I promise you by the time you finish the Haunted Hotel you'll be enthralled (seriously, how great is that level? It's rare that a game can pull of something that creepy that well).
What really blows my mind, is that everyone who has played this on TNL has liked it. Guess it reveals who has taste and who doesn't.
Cue compass jumping in to tell us how much this game sucks and further prove Thief's point.
BTW, if any of you fools do decide to finally get around to playing this make sure to install the latest version of the unofficial patch, and I recommend doing the + version for the added content.
