Zero, that's groovy man, the game DOES have an awesome soundtrack. I'm listening to "Swing Time" right now.

I can't believe no ones brought up the Mutant League series. That's some good male bonding right there...
Xmen 1 for Genesis was one of those games that was so bad it was good. The game was a total glitch fest, Night Crawler caused a lot of problems. But, the game also has one of the single greatest moments in all of gaming: reseting the danger room computer. In Mojo's level you would get trapped in a room, Xavier would say reset the computer to get out, but since nothing was in this little prison cell of a room you would get frustrated, say fuck this, and hit the reset button on the genesis. But instead of going back to the title screen the screen filled up with binary code and other computer gibberish. Turns out in order to reset the danger room you had to physically reset your genesis! This knocked flat on my ass when I first saw this.
Anyway, classic genesis games:
- Contra Hard Corps: Better than all the metal slugs combined, not to mention better than gunstar heroes and all the other contras that came before it. This is a real man's game and not for the faint of heart.
- Gunstar Heroes: No explaination needed.
- Alien Soldier: I've only recently learned to appreaciate this one. I never could get into it due to the shitty unchangable default control scheme. But if you rearrange the keys in an emulator things work much smoother. This game is an all fast, over the top boss fest from the contra hard corps school of thought.
- Kid Chameleon: Some would call this a super mario rip off with hats, but this game is so much more. It's too damn long for it's own good, levels drag on and on and lead you through a confusing warp structure that bounces you from world to world. The game is damn hard bordering on being cheap, and to top it off there are no passwords or saves, so getting back to where you died could take hours. Which is why this game rules.
- Starflight: Unbelievably deep and amazing game. You explore outerspace and discover litterally hundreds of different galaxies each with their own planets with unique topography to explore. You meet several different alien races, which whom you can discuss, trade or fight with. Easily one of the best and engrossing games on the sytem.
- Ristar: This one game is better than every single sonic game EVER. That is fact, not conjecture. This one slipped under every one's radar. This is the best platformer on the system.
- The Adventures of Batman and Robin: This one pushed the genesis beyond all it's technical limits, and it's difficultly has been known to crush many whom have attempted to play it. I personally think that this is best super hero game ever.
Wonderboy in Monster World: This one is great. Oddly enough, I hate the old time metroids, yet love games that rip off their structure.
Flashback: Great ending
There are more but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
My old Genesis would only do that when I had Mega BomberMan's multiplayer mode running with a multitap plugged in.Quote:

I have had no troubles with my Genesis in the 11 1/2 years I've owned it. Thank God!
Castle of Illusion and Landstalker are definitely among my favorites. Rocket Knight Adventures is awesome (my friends at the time couldn't believe Konami gave the Genesis such a great exclusive) and I still play it regularly.
While I love Wonder Boy in Monster World (blows away the PCE-CD version), Monster World IV is still tops in my book.
Outgunned, Outnumbered, AND LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT!Quote:

Most everything else has been covered plenty. Hard Corps, Ristar, RKA, Castle of Illusion, etc. The only classic system I still own.
