Let's talk about the best of the best Genesis games

The one on the SNES was Super Ghouls and Ghosts, which is a totally different game.

Ported by Sega. It was a Capcom arcade game first.

You guys long since mentioned all of the good ones, but a few more that I enjoyed for some reason or another - [ahh, youth]-- that to me dont quite hold up in this day are : ESWAT, Atomic Robo Kid ,Altered Beast, Phelios, Real Ghostbusters( I loved those little big headed guys),and Last Battle . I had fond memories of these and a lot of others from back in the day.

There were a couple that I wanted to play that I just never did : Vermillion ( did this suck? , I always thought it looked cool)
all Sega CD games: Sonic CD(OMG - one day Sega'll put it in a compilation....wont they:sweat: ) , Snatcher, etc.
and Chakan, which I didnt play but heard a lot about - (was it Halverson over at Gamefan propping that thing up? Cant remember. If so than maybe Ill pass on that one.....)

A lot of people in gaming mags praised it. I have no idea why as the game is mediocre to the core. Cool theme though.

Yeah, I always thought it looked kind of average. Well, theres one less Genny game I need to track down then.

ive always felt the same way.

hmmm...all I have to add is that Flink was pretty good on Sega CD.
Oh and Contra Hard Corps isn't as hard as Gunstar on the hardest difficulty (at least for me, it isn't).

I forgot about Ecco 2. I played the import, with little clue as to what the hell was going on -- probably for the best since it was a weird game from the get go. Way more trippy and challenging than the original.

Sword of Vermillion was'nt very good. It was actually Yu Suzuki's first attempt at an RPG. It did have some decent parts to it, but the boss battles just plain sucked.

Soundtrack = Vermilion's only redeeming feature.
