The guy that sent this review in gives a really detailed recounting of each fight and stunt scene. Sounds fucking awesome. Hard to believe, but sounds like Jackie can still hang even though he's in his 50's.
Well, I was planning to post my impressions of the film, since I just watched it, but I guess Dole here beat me to it.
It definately best Chan's film in loong time, and I liked it much more than most of his recent US ouput.
Jackie give, quite good dramatic performance, as cop tortured by guilt for the death of his squad, and his inability to save them. Its pretty much the only film you can see Jackie, stumble around drunk, and puking. Several times.
The direction is slick, action is cool, fast and hard hitting. While there werent many crazy, death defying stunts, like there were in Chan's films of old, it has some great stunts like running down the side of the building using his handcuffs, or big bus out of control with Jackie hanging for his life on the roof. There are plenty of cool gun action moments, which is somewhat different from usual Chan's more lighthearted productions, like cool ambush on the police by film's vilian group, that reminded me a bit of shootout from Heat, but on the smaller scale. Or deadly can and mouse game baddies play with Chan's team, when they lure them into the trap.
Jackie gets to show off his still rocking fighting skills, in several fighting bouts, especially one against one of the villians in the Lego store. The fight choreography was solid, and you could see and feel the fight, unlike many US productions.
Nick Tse was also pretty good, and made a good partner for Jackie.
The only thing that I felt were not good, was at the end of the film, like the final confrontation with lead villian, but it didnt spoil the enjoyment of the picture.
Its definately cool movie, and if you are action fan, definately check it out.
I was on the fence about this one but Despair just sold it for me. I still need to get Arahan and House of Flying Daggers, some really good films have been released in the East as of late.
Oh man, I have to see this. What kind of US release is it getting?
Oh thank god, I thought Jackie Chan was all but dead. Please, please let this be the first step back on the road from suck-dom.

there was an article some weeks back where Jackie basically stated that he doesn't want to do any more action films and try to get roles that are serious (ala; DeNiro). the article was mainly about asian actors (like Chow Yun and Jet) being typecasted as action stars, but now he'd like to see them taken more seriously and put into dramas.
so if this is his last action starring role, then it sounds like he went out with a bang.
