But he didn't pretend to have it. First, the kid didn't ask him, just started going through all his stuff. You steal you get beat, can't fault Sawyer for that. Then, the rest of the gang went and proceeded to threaten him for it. Sawyer is too proud to ever give in to threats (even if he had had it). So it finally resulted in torture, now would you really want to help any of these people? All they had to do was ask, but none of them did. Every time anyone asked Sawyer for something out of need he gave it to them, i.e. laptop battery and the plane's passenger log. Sawyer hasn't been the nicest guy per se, but he's never acted like a villian even though they all treat him like one. I think Sawyer is the man.

- Speaking of Sayid, what a fucking hypocrit. He tries to intentionally torture and almost kill Sawyer, yet when his gf gets shot by pure accident he's a bitch about it.
- It was doubly stupid because no one even asked Sawyer nicely for the medicine. I guess thats kind of the point, but he's never really done anything to warrant everyone's distrust. I think the writing fucked up a little here.
- Kate gets hotter with every episode i watch, but the Jack love interest with her just doesn't work. Probably because he's such a pussy, and she could kick his ass. Some of the scenes in "The Moth" were really bad. So far that has to be the worst episode in season 1, purely for the shitty kate+jack scenes.
- So which biblical character does Locke represent exactly? I know he's a representation of someone, just don't know my bible stories well enough. I was thinking Moses, but Jack is more the leader. I guarentee Locke dies before they ever get off the island, like Moses in the desert.
- It's so damn nice not to have Michelle Rodriguez ruining every scene!
- I like the fat guy. He should get Kate.

You make some good points, I'll admit. Jack was an arse for punching him in the face the one evening. But I still think Sawyer tried to use their fear over the medicine angle to his advantage and after deliberately letting it boil it then 360'd and blew up in his face. And I won't argue with you that Sawyer is the man. He, Michael and Hurley are probably my favorite characters.

It's all in the writing. On a more "mainstream" show, the secondary characters would be all but used to pad the main characters' dialogue or thrown aside. They really use them in crucial ways too. One example of this is how it was Hurley's idea from season 1 (spoiler wrapping just in case for stormy) ... ....to make the "check list" which eventually helped expose Ethan. Hurley to Jack: "Hey man, I don't know who 'Bob' is, do you? And who is that guy? We need to make a list and figure out WHO is who!" (not verbatim) On any other network show, Hurley would just be all jokes and would not have been portrayed as having the common sense to suggest that to Jack. It would have been Jack's idea alone to make the passenger check list from the manifest, not Hurley's.

Hurley has a really big part. He made the golf course too. I'm looking forward to another Hurley episode, I want to know what happened after he won the lottery. I'm not much of a Micheal fan, he's just kinda there most of the time.

The best character has to be Locke though. He is just so damn bad ass.

Locke USED to be bad ass. He was so mysterious in the beginning of the show, being all creepy and mystical. I don't like how they just made him so plain after his real job was revealed. He was so cool in the first few episodes of season 1... He bothers me now. Michael is a little bitch who I never liked (omg racist) and is nothing more than the guy who tries to mediate every problem that happens.

And Sawyer is a fuck ass. A real fuck ass.

The show has already gone over everything that happened to Hurley between winning the lottery and ending up on the Island.

There's nothing else to know except why he was at the mental hospital.
