It was a valid remark. We all hope this thing can be visible outdoors and in - but thus far it has been Nintendo's track record to for some reason not consider this when the first type of GBA came out (with concern to no backlight for indoors).Theres a possibility they could do the same with respect to the DS. Although, Mark Ryan's informative link makes me think we'll get a good product off the bat, who can tell until they get a chance to use it firsthand?
I hope it isn't backlit, although if it is, kudos to them for getting good battery life out of it. Isamu, chill out man, no need for that shit here.

Now don't get me wrong....the SP is a fantastic little handheld! Infact, it has practically saved my days at work when I would have otherwise had absolutely nothing to do but stare at the walls and arrest the occasional punk who wants to be a baddass mofo.
Because of its battery life, the SP has been my crutch, my vice throughout a long, dry day at work. BUT...while it's design is near flawless, the one thing that makes a handheld pivitol, is the one thing that suffers...the display. It is simply too dark! And while I did have a blast mastering my Super PUzzle Fighting skills all day long, I nearly developed a migrane constantly trying to discern the blue blocks from the greens, and the yellows from the reds.
The screen's light is almost useless in indoor office-lit environments. It helps, but's still too dark. And I find myself holding the SP closer to my eyes than I've previously had to do with other handhelds....practically up to my chest! I am sincerely hoping the DS's screen is not only brighter and clearer, but slightly bigger than the sp's screen.
I could care less about the upcoming launch games, I just look forward to seeing Puzzle Fighter in a whole new light(pun intended) once I fire it up on the DS. Same goes for Sword of Mana and FFTA. Someone had mentioned that Puzzle Fighter for the SP is just a dark game to begin with and that more care should've been taken in designing its brightness and contrast details, especially considering all the different colored blocks there are. Would you agree with this statement? Is say, Puyo Pop Advance a brighter, more clearer alternative?
Interesting read concerning the DS's presells over in Japan.

"The Nintendo DS is the third best-selling video game console for the week of October 11-17. First place in this week's chart went to Nintendo's other handheld, the Game Boy Advance SP. The standard PlayStation 2 hardware was ranked at second place, and fourth place was taken by preorders for the upcoming redesigned version of the PS2. The Nintendo GameCube came in at fifth place."
Wow... Nintendo = 3 out of 5 top sellers.
Puzzle Fighter on DS? how did i miss that? ;0
