With a USB 2.0 port or a firewire port, a 4MB song takes less then two seconds to upload to my iPod. To upload 100 songs, it takes less then thirty. It would probably upload one photo almost instantly, considering they're so much smaller in size then mp3s. I also don't see how the cable is bulky at all. It's a thin, two-foot cable. However, for you people who are saying, "looking at pictures on a 2" screen sucks," don't buy one and quit sounding like such an ass. The iPod (or anything similar) is a great way to take around a bunch of photos just to show off to people. People do it with wallet photos, people do it with cell phone cameras, people do it with tons of small little things. This isn't for looking at classic art or gorgeous nature scenes, this is just for showing people your family or friends when they want to know what they look like it. As well, the ability to hook it up to a television is a nice thing. "But I can just carry my camera with the photos on it and blah blah blah." First, can your camera suddenly carry around 40GB of photos? Second, I already have my iPod with me. Gee, I can also take my digital camera, or I can... well, just have my iPod which I already have.
This thing does need some additional features, though. An adapter to directly plug in a USB cable attached to a digital camera for one. Take it on the road, dump your photos off onto your iPod directly, sort through them and look at them on the iPod. Would be wonderful. As well, even though I don't have a need for it, I'm hoping that Apple was smart enough to build in (or is currently bulding) support for Keynote presentations. It'd be great to be able to take just your iPod and do a PowerPoint-style presentation from it.
When they get this feature, I'll buy the biggest gig model they can put in a pastel box.Quote:

Hrmph. I am still on the fence for what MP3 player I should get. I don't give two swags about Photo viewing however. But I do love the Ipods design and such. But the fact I can get a 40Gb Creative Nomad MP3 player for $200 as apposed to a 40Gb Ipod for $400, makes it tough.
