Mets sign 43 year old and RETIRED Andres Galarraga to a minor league contract with incentives if he makes the major league roster, which we all know it'll happen. why... why?? I guess he'll be a nice clubhouse presence and he should get his 400th homer (he has 399) in a Mets uniform. Typical Mets signing anyways..

Mets also gave minor league contracts to Scott Strickland, Marlon Anderson, Ramon Castro (accused of RAPE last season and is gonna serve a year of probation..another typical Mets signing) and a couple of others.

Moises "I like to pee on my hand" Alou signs a 2 year contract with the SF Giants..he gets to play for daddy again. Here's a nice pic of Alou for you folks..

It's been said I am sure, but the killer pitching line-up I was hoping the Astros to have is now much weaker. Fuck you Red Sox.

Astros are walking a thin line right now, the Alou option is out, if Beltran isn't back, then you have one of the worst outfields to start the season with (Berkman is injured). The aces in pitching are becoming too few and a single injury will destroy us. No moves have been made and we still don't know who all is coming back. 1.5 Million would have made for a more secure future with Wade Miller, now it's looking grim.

The way I see it, the Dodgers pulling out of the Johnson trade just puts more pressure on the Dbacks to trade him, which means the Yankees might be able to give up less (hold onto Dioneer Navarro maybe). And Johnson is 41 years old, I do want him but if the Yankees don't get him it's not the end of the world.

The Red Sox would have been a complete laughing stock if they lost Varitek too, but yes they overpaid. I really don't understand what the Red Sox are doing lately, Clement was an awful signing and I don't think Renteria is a 10 mil/year player. Varitek is approaching the downside of his career, but at least some sort of argument can be made for giving him that deal (he's the team's leader). Kind of fitting that the Red Sox captain is a guy that throws the first punch with his catcher's mask on and the Yankees captain is the most respected player in baseball :P

The Reds signed Milton for 3 years, 25.5 million. Big fuckup by the Yankees, I don't know why the hell they never signed him. I'm still waiting for someone to explain Jaret Wright to me.

The sox are doing fine as far as signings go. I think Theo simply took the route of the unexpected a little more seriously this year. No matter how you look at it, losing Pedro and Pavano backed Theo into a corner Wells was just to guarantee some reliablity for almost no money, and Clement to guarantee that young guy that maybe we have a chance of molding into a good a pitcher under Schill. Wade Miller was the smartest signing off the off-season if you ask me, and you should be asking your Yankee's why Cashman didn't go after this guy as insurance.

Varitek was obvious, and yes the terms were neccesseary. I don't even claim to know how good this guy is at the intangibles, but no one on this team could say it would be the same team if we didn't sign him under these terms. He's just worth it.

And please don't bring up the fight, or a comparison of the Captains, cause we all saw how respectable, awesome, and just generally pleasant to be around your 25 million dollar pretty boy must be. Don't claim to know the frusturation behind that fight, please just don't. You can't justify A-rod slapping the ball, or your own "classy" fans childlike reactions to finally losing to the Sox, so please don't sit there taking under your breath cheap shots at someone for a fight that you can't really begin to guess its reasons for happening. If Jeter had been smart enough to try to get his team to act as a family in that clubhouse, he should have decked Pedro or Arroyo the next time one of them hit one of you.
