Beltran to the Mets, 7 years $119 million. The Mets are retarded.
yea.. the Mets are so retarded. They signed a great player who is about to hit his prime and is going to be a big part of the future of the Mets along with Reyes and Wright. He is also coming to the city with the largest Puerto Rican population in the nation...he will give the Mets good press and he will make even more money on endorsements, jersey sales..etc...thus helping the team make more money.Quote:

The Piazza era is about to end...and the Beltran era will begin. I'm optimistic that this deal will pay off and Beltran will enjoy his time here.

Is Kaz Matsui gonna be traded or something?
Thought I heard some rumblings about this.
anyone got a link to the Beltran signing?
I heard rumors of Kaz and Floyd going to Boston for Manny..but I really doubt that. I also heard Kaz to Boston for Doug. M cause Boston apparently has someone coming up from their minor system. Mets also signed Miguel Cairo..maybe that signing ignited those rumors.Quote:

Here's a link to the Beltran deal..not final but that looks to be the contract numbers.
Beltran deal..
I guess the Beltran signing means Cameron moves to RF.,...or will the Mets try to trade him?

Beltran isn't an elite player, he may be for the next 2 or 3 years, but if in 5 years the Mets are still happy to have Beltran at that salary i will be very surprised. Name a $100 million contract thats finished or near the end that isnt a disaster. Losing Beltran at 7 years $108 million is the best thing to happen to the Astros, they definatly couldn't afford to eat the tail end of that.
Delgado for 3 or 4 years $12 per >>>>>> Beltran at his contract
and it's not even close
The Mess do it again.. HA...
