Right, but once they've determined the threat is NOT there, how can they then keep you on record in their database alongside REAL threats? Certainly I can understand investigating potential threats to the life of the President, but keeping people on record who're proven to pose NO threat is unjustifiable and a clear violation of one's civil rights.

Cause people are assholes and these days if someone doesn't like your political notions they're more inclined to tattle on you than ever. But if the SS inteprets even a remote threat to the commander in chief or other persons in their charge it is their job to check it out. Sometimes doing yer job means being an asshole but being an asshole isn't doing you job.

Why on earth would you not keep the records of the investigation? Deleting them would be ten times more stupid than keeping them.

If the report made turned out to be in error or the threat completely absent then there is no reason whatsoever to keep those records on file. They should be expunged without question. We destory a juvenile''s criminal record when they turn 18, yet we keep files on completely innocent people we were reported mistakenly? That's pretty stupid.

It didn't turn out to be in error. It turned out to not be a threat. The information that this dumb bitch was making threats was 100% accurate and worth keeping the penny worth of drive space it would require to store.

Exactly. She's so stupid to make such statments that she should live with them forever anyway. They don't have a file on me...but that's because I didn't act like a total idiot.

If it turns out to not be a threat, then yes it IS an error. The idea is to protect the President from any threat on his life, none of which was here. Once that is determined why on Earth do they need to keep the file? Police don't keep a file on every person they suspect of every crime, especially once they've proven the person isn't guilty. That same logic should apply here. If she posed a real threat, yeah keep tabs on her, otherwise respect for a person's privacy should come first.
