WOW! Number 2 in a game where rank is based on time played not skill. AMAZING!Quote:

That's true to an extent, but there are moments where skill and strategy are required.Quote:

I never understood what kind of brain disfunction some people suffer from when ever Containment comes up. It's the worst stage, ever, but you can atleast try to make it fun and improve your chances by gambling some but nooo. Lets place the warthog by the teleporter, roll the scorpion in by the flag.. hm let's see if we can't fit the rockets close by and oh the sniper can sit on the roof etc :yuck:
We just won a one flag on waterworks when we were down a man 5v6.
It was awesome.
Try playing it with some lag. Its almost as bad as swords on beaver creek.Quote:

He just really needs to learn how to shut up.
That's the other bad part, after he fucks up it takes ten minutes for him to stop explaining how or why he fucked up.
There's a lot more strategy to the game than you think, especially in PvP play.Quote:

Would you say there is more strategy and required skill than a team based FPS?
Becasue if the answer is no, I'm still not impressed.
You consider Halo a team based FPS? :rolleyes:Quote:

Depends, once Battlegrounds drops, Id probably answer that question with a "its comparable". They all pale next to the strategy and skill required in Warcraft 3, anyway.Quote:

In those modes it's critically important that you have competent people all working towards controlling the map, able to perform at any station (sniping, rockets, vehicles, BR's, shotties) and that communicate well enough so you don't have people competing over the same key weapons.
Having designated positions is a good idea but sometimes respawns make it implausible for a designated sniper to snipe, etc. so everyone has to be able to roleplay.
On a map like Containment (BLEARGH) things like causing distractions and coordinated attacks are crucial for the win.
I think I liked CS so much because it was a lot less about controlling the weapons and focused the strategy to a fine point, and required tremendous skill to be very good at.
The best teams have preset goals to an extent.
Like when we play on Containment and it's defense, I take the Scorpion to the top back of the base where I can shoot at both cave enterances, and most of the front ramp enterances. Then either akidwhoeatscake or Eston takes the Gaus Warthog and parks it in a specific spot on the top walkway where they can shoot down the left cave and hit anyone coming up the front ramps. Fries takes our sniper and gets enemy rockets, and the other guys on our team quickly decide who's getting our rockets, shotgun and whatever else they might want. It's then fries job to get back to our base with enemy rockets and whoever got our rockets job to blow up their tank before they return to base.
Halo 2 isnt a team based shooter.
It has team modes, and teamwork helps to win, but you'll never get me to say it's based on teamwork.
Dave's right on a technicality.
LEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNKINS!
See here is the difference between your opinion on the matter and mine: I'm right and you're wrong. Of course you don't think it's a teamwork based, you have no teamwork and you suck. Besides, you're trying to say that it isn't a team based game because it has non team based modes, but so what? You can't say it's not a multiplayer game just becuase it has a single player as well, you also can't say it's not a single player game justb ecuase it has multiplayer options. Just because it has non team gamemodes, doesn't mean that 75% of the multiplayer isn't teambased.
HAHAHAHAHA.Quote:

You seriously have no idea what you're talking about. Which is cute.
See, you think that it doesn't require teamwork because you play low level retards that have no teamwork and you play with low level retards that have no teamwork; I on the other hand play with people who have teamwork and we play against people who have teamwork and the winning team is the team with the best teamwork. The top clans aren't better shots than me and my guys, but we will never touch them because they have amazing teamwork. It's something you would have to see in action to understand, but given that you suck so much, you'd never in a million years reach a rank where you could play these guys.
That might be the best thing ever written on TNL, ever.Quote:

Now, this guy doesnt need to be part of any plan at all, if he sees one of your team, he kills them. And the other team wins. Thats all it comes down to.
The reason Halo 2 isnt a team based shooter is that the shield and certain weapons give a skilled player the opportunity to kill at will. Tom Clancy games, for example dont let players have this clutch. Everyone gets the same weapon as the next guy, and if you get shot once or twice in the chest, you die.
Play Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, skill doesnt mean shit if you arent playing as a team.
Yestarday I played bit team with a bunch of guys from the top 50 and a week ago with people from the top ten. I play with literally the best in the world at big team battle and when we lose it's not becuase one guy on the other team is some amazing crack shot, we have amazing crack shots too. We lose when they outsmart us, and we win when we outsmart them.Quote:

It's becuase they have good teamwork together. Yes they're good shots, but they aren't that much better than Rampant Fronting or GTy. So why do they always win? Teamwork.
You know I play Street Fighter much the same way you play Halo; I have no idea what I'm doing. But, sometimes I can beat random people by just mashing buttons. Does that mean Street Fighter requires no skill or knowledge of combos, counters, blocks, parries or whatever else is on those games? I'd love to hear your ideas on that.
You're just not getting the big picture here Opaque.
I don't think that's the problem here.
I'm not talking about players, I'm saying the game as a whole is not a team based shooter. That it was never designed so, and the balance of the game doesnt rest on teamwork.
If there were a sniper class, an assault class, a medic class, etc.. in Halo 2. Then it would matter what the other people on your team are doing. There isnt any system like that.

19 in double team, like I give a fuck. Double Team is gay beucase they included objective games.
Double Team's absolutely ridiculous because it has more than one sniper rifle most times, so the other team gets spawn sniped the whole time.Quote:

I've seen it happen many times, but only on Ascension. It's reletivly easy to get both sniper rifles on that map.
My new clan is |_33t.
If you ever get in the same team as this dude named h3ll then just drop, he's seriously hands down the biggest fucking retard out there. Coagulation, neutral bomb, I accidently run him over and betray him. I say I'm sorry but the fucker just whines for two minutes and says that he has to betray me now since I betrayed him even though I explained that it was an accident.
So the british piece of shit decides that the right time to kill me is when I'm sneaking into their base with the bomb :wtf:
Only bitches and hos leave Rampant Fronting.Quote:

Well I finally played today, and I lost some rank, but I whooped ass all day.
I do have 2 new things I hate. First, I hate shitty teams where people don't pull their weight. One game we went in with 3 people, and we lost because our 4th man went 1 and 12 with a suicide. Secondly, I hate this either new cheating method, or Bungies new craptastic connections, because I was booted from games today and I lost experience because of it.
I feel your pain. All day I've been plagued off and on with poor teams. Just when I get on a hot streak and bring my rank back to 18, I get stuck with craptastic teamates like http://http://www.bungie.net/Stats/G...r=ElCapitan006 or http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStat...r=ElCapitan006.Quote:

The difference between Rampant Fronting and IKtal, is a.) We have a better name, b.) we're a group of friends that play Halo together sometimes, some of us dont at all, c.) we're not assembled, thats gay.
Heh, if you say that outloud it's "I que tal".Quote:

My clan isn't any more assembled than TNL was. There isn't anyone in the clan I haven't been playing with since about right after you stopped playing, then when we all needed a real clan two months back we formed KtA in much the same way Rampant Fronting was formed (a group of friends deciding on a name and such).
No I just need to tell The Dave that he sucks.Quote:

(except Chux, Chux rules).
Dunno, I think it's cool Opaque takes it seriously. I have a lot of admiration for people trying to become masters of a game and put in the dedication needed, unless he's not having fun I don't see the problem here.
I'll be sending you a third and final friend request Brand later tonight btw.
My friends list most likely is full, which would be the reason for me not getting any of your friend requests, I'll clear some space up :sonic:Quote:

For the record, I also appreciate anyone trying to be the best at anything. Opaque doesnt count though, because he's a douche. He should just change his XBL tag to "I PWN JOO 420" or something similiarly reflective of his Halo 2 personalilty.
You haven't played a real game with me in four months, and even then I was never like those kids. Anyone who plays real games with me knows I'm not one of those "omfg you am so n00bie, me am 1337z0r" fags.
I just like giving TNL a hard time on the forums.
Ooooooooooh yeeeaaah! .
And then there is this game where I got stuck with a shitty team as usual, but this time I wasn't able to keep my shitty team from losing.
I also again today was in the middle of a match where we were winning by like 7 kills, and I get fucking dropped from the game. I don't understand what is happening at Bungie, but I've been dropped by 5 games in the past 24 hours and lost experience because of it. Something needs to be fixed.
How the hell is it that one guy betrayed me and other teammates a total of five times and nobody got the option to kick him? He killed me twice because I had the rockets or some other weapon he wanted, and likewise to others.

Except Chux and Microsoft arn't on very good terms, so nominating him the signaler would be in vein. (until tomorrow or the next day).
Well fuck.
We won two more games of Major and now we're 36th.
If we win two more we break top 25 and we're on the first page of leaderboard. I am pretty excited by that idea.
Just played another slayer game where I had to pull my team to a victory and went 20-10. Bastard rank being too low for my skill level
Will somebody please join me (MmanX) on Halo2. I am tired of playing with horrible guys. I do really well with some supporting team, but I cannot carry a team for anything.
I'll be home in 3 hours or so and I'll play with you then if you want! :D
We hit 25th today for majors. Now were on the first page of leaderboards.
I'd love to get some clanmatches going, but I can't remember when I last saw enough Rampant Fronting members online. And it doesn't help that there are some still in the TNL clan.
As for rankings, I'm mainly content with a 25 in slayer for the moment. Now to focus on team skirmish and big team battle.
So we played a Big Team on Coag 5v5 Cov. One of our five hides in the base while we all try to take out hte banshee, we almost do, but without that last guy we just can't. Banshee lives, kills our wraith, there wraith spawn rapes us, they get our wrath, both snipers and procede to spawn rape us throuhg three quick caps.
The point of the story? If that one guy had shot an SMG at the banshee with the rest of us instead of hiding in the base that whole chain of events would have been avoided. If you aren't ready to play, and if you're planning on hiding inside the base where you will do no good for anyone, just don't sign on in the first place.
BTW, check out the medals in this game.
What were you using to get those killtaculars/killfrenzy/killtrocity? I have no idea how eight members of a clan worth its salt could give that up like they did.
Also had a similar medal-producing game in Big team last night.
Yeah, WTF, and that was on Containment.
25 in team slayer? NOICE.
This thread needs a little brightening up.
I knew the pistol was overpowered in the first Halo, but I didn't realize how much. I just watched a montage where a guy got a killtacular with only using one grenade, and a single clip out of the pistol. Thank god they took it out of 2.
LOL, you're a real jerk. I bet you bitched that guy out forever about that stupid shit.Quote:
