We had some great games on all of the maps, especially on Elongation. The Shotguns/Snipers game was damn fun, my personal favorite was this hard fought battle which I never was able to finish. That game was the first time in a long time I was completely destroying the other team with the sniper rifle, it was fantastic. It was even more satisfying to snipe Steel Cougar over and over again because he sucks.Quote:

I thought the new maps would get me back into Halo 2. Well, I still dont feel like playing the game. I'm actually sick of it. I might be on once in awhile, but otherwise I'll be waiting for something else to come out. Hopefully the Battlefield 2 demo keeps me entertained for a long time.
I'll be going on in a little bit after I get some more practice done on my sf stick (I'm having alot of growing pains from it now). If some of you want me to play you guys, you have to put me back on your friends list as I'm still cleared out.

btw, I haven't found that disk for the updates, so I won't be playing any of the newer maps yet. :(

Anyone else having problems with the plasma-grenades? It seems like lately they've been flying through people or bouncing off a lot more instead of sticking. Doesn't happen every time, but a lot more frequently than normal to be noticeable.
Yep, I've noticed it. Opaque threw a sticky grenade at my ghost one match and it bounced right off and I killed him. But then closer to the end of the game match my rocket went straight through his ghost, and he killed me. I havn't noticed it though since the day the new maps came out.Quote:

oh, and I was playing a bit yesterday, and in classic CTF on Warlock, this kid grabbed our flag, threw it on the roof and insisted on us waiting for the others to drop so we get double experience. This is the shit that I hate about the game. I grabbed the flag and ended the match.

On a related note, we all started super jumping again because bungie said it's not a bannable offense. They said since it's built into the levels that everyone shares, and since no one has to mod, hack or mess with they're network connection to do it, it's allowed. They're all different and most are extremely precise and difficult but if you give them all enough time you can learn them. Zanzibar is the easiest while Ascession hasthe hardest.

The new maps are decent, nothing mind blowing. Yeam Gemini is simple - but its 10 times better than trash like Midship in my opinion. CTF looks like its going to be fun on most of these maps.
They really need to fix the quitting in the next game - or drop the matchmaking all together and go for normal servers. 90% of the time the team with the quitters lose, and sadly people quit in the majority of the games played. Im still alittle annoyed by how short the games are. Coming from playing Battlefield recently - cant we have some epic 30 min CTF battles? No one sticks around for custom games like that. Oh well, maybe in Halo3.
I'm normally on very regularly too, but I havn't been lately due to Phantom Dust and summer nights taking away my ability to play Halo 2 all night long. But today I soft modded my box, which means chances are I won't be playing Halo very much considering I have 5000+ games on my Xbox now.

Backwash is pretty awful. Why they included the Sentinel Beam I'll never know.
Also made some potentially awesome custom games. Can't wait to try them out.
I personally love Backwash, once you get used to the weapon placement, which is too few and far between, and the no grenades at the start, the level rules.
FYI they included the sentinal beam only because it looks neat shooting through the fog. Originally they had a Plasma Rifle start because it looked good glowing in the fog (when you saw players across the map) but it made the level too difficult to play.
I got the update thingie. There is now a Rumble Preview playlists. Also, as far as I can tell, they didn't reset the ranks on Team Preview.
