This is the kind of two faced bullshit that companies like Sega need to take note of. They say they want to Americanize their older franchises because the Japan market is shrinking and their current crop doesn't get much attention and then follow it up with one of their old franchises staying in Japan.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't and still don't give two shits about Altered Beast. But it just boggles my mind how stupid Japanese gaming companies can be sometimes with their hypocritical business practices. It doesn't hurt anybody but them, so it makes me wonder why they do it in the first place.
If Sega decided not to release it in the US, that is a safe indication that the game sucks. Another publisher will pick it up- just look at Gungrave OD...

Altered Beast has always been crap. Maybe this will save a few unknowing souls in the West a bit of money.

What is great isn't that this is coming out in Japan and not the US, but that it is also coming out in EUROPE but not the US. I've never, ever understood those Europe but not US releases for games that weren't Europe-directed. (Goofy French games, rugby, etc.)
Oh well, for me. The game looks like ass, so no big loss. Still a stupid move, though.
Yoshi, we get it, you don't like Sega, good lord... This is disappointing news, and while AB isn't my favorite Sega game, it's a shame to see a game not get a U.S. release when it's being released elsewhere.
It didn't look all that great from pics... I am not disappointed unless it turns out to be a great game.

Shining Force looks great though and Phatasy Star Universe could be good. Possible VC3 and VF4 FT ports would make their lineup pretty solid actually. They arent like the old Sega but they just have the same game output as other succesful developers, that do not get bashed on message boards, now.
