But yeah, I know how he feels. I actually went and stood in line to vote yesterday because I really did care about the issues at hand. And my guy lost.
Well, just look forward to the I told you so's. I doubt anything will be broken beyond the possibility of repair.
In the long term, our fossil fuel-dependant economy will collapse after we've drilled half of Earth's petroleum reserves. I'll use my savings to buy a horse and farm for transportation and sustenance after I lose my NIH-funded job when the government finally goes bankrupt. Or maybe I'll just die from hunger. It all could've been prevented if Americans in 2004 had voted out the guy who couldn't balance a checkbook or increase CAFE standards by more than 1.6 mpg.
In the short term, it will be sad to see Bush appoint 2-4 Supreme Court Justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade. There are women in this country who want to have children but find during an ultrasound that the fetus has no heartbeat. Instead of being able to have a D&C to spare themselves from the emotional trauma due to the thought of carrying a baby that will inevitably die, they'll instead have to wait for it to naturally expel. But that's okay because it's justified according to our morally-always-correct President.
In the history of American politics, no candidate for President has ever won by betting on either 1) the intelligence of the American people or 2) the youth vote.
Kerry/Edwards bet on both. You do the math.
It is understandable that Mike feels the way he does. I think most of the Democratic party feels that way today. They lost, and they lost big. It is also their own fault they lost. A lot of people went into this election wanting to vote Democrat.
But the Democratic party chose Kerry.
A lot of people, myself included, felt spit on and shit on by that choice.
The Democrats of this nation now must work harder than ever and figure out what they have done wrong. They have lost the nation and they need to figure out why and do something about it.
The best part is that Kerry has better morals than Bush, who was an acoholic for years and only goes to church because his wife made him.Quote:

A viable third party doesn't just materialize from thin air. You (and millions of others) almost have to sacrifice your votes for a while, unless we have civil war.
