Klonoa G2 (GBA) finally coming stateside

While it's taken a rather roundabout way to the states, Klonoa 2 for Game Boy Advance will be hitting these shores next year, Namco announced today. The second GBA side-scroller starring the famous floppy-eared hero will be available in February.
This particular Klonoa was called Klonoa G2: Dream Champ Tournament when it was released in Japan, all the way back in August of 2002. The American version drops the G from the title, but keeps the five worlds worth of levels, the complex puzzles, and the forward-scrolling hoverboard-racing mini-games, reminiscent of the racing levels in the PlayStation 2's Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

Now excuse me while I write a love letter to whoever it is that took over Namco USA and kicked their localization department's ass into gear.

Fucking sweet. And here I was thinking that I'd never buy a GBA game again.

BTW, is it a normal Klonoa game (I hope), or is it ALL hoverboard racing? The article doesn't make it clear.

It's a normal Klonoa game. It'll be nice to finally understand what the hell is going on in that game.

You got it. If MDDL gets a US release, I'm grabbing it. I never expected Taiko no Tatsujin to be localized, but it's here. Namco are on a roll. I hope they start on a Rolling Thunder 4 also.

Actually, first it was Katamari Damacy, then Nightmare of Druaga, then Taiko Drum Master, then Mr Driller DS and now this. Thank god for the management changes at Namco Hometek, they're finially realizing there's potential niche markets (thanks in large part to Symphonia's breakout western success no doubt). :)

Hopefully Namco Hometek decides to dig into their back catalogue a little more. Mr Driller Ace & Drill Land would make great quick budget releases, and it'd be nice to get Tales of Phantasia in english. Maybe this means more Klonoa is in the works too.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of Klonoa 3 for PS2 or Klonoa G3 for DS. Klonoa Heroes is suppossed to be rather crap.

I remember hearing about Klonoa 3 quite a while ago... Was that offical announced? And this DS game.... When did that come to light? Wow. I'm over whelmed with the idea of so much Klonoa in the future.

No, I was just specualting actually... I've never heard about Klonoa 3 or a DS game honestly.

I do remember Namco announcing an enhanced GC port of Klonoa 2 early on but it evidently got shelved (along with GC ports of RR5 & Tekken Tag which were in the works around launch).

I played this when it first came out and I didn't care for it.
It might have been because I had just finished the first Gameboy Advance Klonoa game about three weeks before this one came out and the second one felt just like the bloody first one but with crapper level designs, but I dunno for sure.
I just know I had enough about mid way through the second world.
