Rock climbing. Who loves it?

I've been climbing off and on for a few years now and was never able to really advance my skill until now. After losing a ton of weight this summer and just getting into overall better shape, I decided to start taking rock climbing seriously. We have a new rock gym in town that is just amazing and I've been spending about 4-5 days a week there and have been getting better by the day.

Rock climbing is an amazing sport, especialy if you go outside. I just got back from climbing at Rock Town in Georgia. Those of you who climb may know where that is or have maybe even been to it. The play is freekin badass. I took some pretty sweet pictures, so once I get them back, I'll post them up.

Any other rock climbers here? I'd love to talk about other great places to climb or about well known routes and stuff.

I used to climb rocks almost daily but havn't done it in quite sometime. One spring I was banned from video games because I was in danger of failing school so I went out with my friends instead. There was a place where we hung out from time to time in the woods on top of a big rock and one day we decided it would be cool to climb it, so we set up a harness system (consisting of a harness fasioned by a rope which was tied around trees to make a break system, probably not the safest thing in the world but it did keep us from falling over 60 feet to the ground). For awhile we'd be up there almost everyday climbing rocks, think it went on for about 6 months then just faded away, although it is a pretty cool thing to do.

If you want good rocks to climb I'd go and search for them in wooded areas and whatnot, it's a lot more fun that way, you get to go explore with your friends and get some good rock climbing in by finding places to climb that nobody else does, just make sure you climb safely.

These aren't of me, but this will give you a good idea of the area I went to this weekend. I'll post my own pics later this week.

Me climbing at RockTown in Georgia. One of the greatest places to boulder in the south. The top and bottom pictures are of a problem calles The Scoop, and the middle two are of the Police Brutality boulder. The place is really amazing. It's up on top of this mountain in the middle of the woods miles away from anything and the area is just covered in boulders. Truly a climbing heaven.


There is absolutely nothing like climbing outside on real rock. Although climbing at gyms is really great, even that doesn't compare to actual rock.

Hopefully in the next few weeks or so, I wll be taking another trip to Rocktown or another place called Horse Pens in Alabama and will try to get some more pictures. The lat time, my camera died early on, so I wasn't able to get to many great shots.
