I can back you up too, PGR2 is ABSOLUTLY the best racing game available right now. But if he isn't into online gaming he is going to miss half the fun of PGR2, I mean come on, no cat and mouse or MVS schooling the shit out of everyone!Quote:

I put 300 hours into PGR2 from Nov 21 - Dec 15th of 2003. It does stop counting at 298 hours and some change, so I'd have to estimate @ 1,000 hours, give or take.
I'll back up any claim that PGR2 is the best racing game on the XB and possibly of this generation, and the only gripes I would level at it are due to the rampant abuse of bouncing off walls during Time Attack Records to save time, though, that's down to general douchebaggery of XBL and not specifically the game itself.
At 20 bucks, it's a steal.
And speaking of which, ordered my mod-chip today and going to pick up an XB Holiday Bundle at lunch for DVD Drive swap then ModBox.
I'll third or fourth the Ninja Gaiden reccomendation. Good game.
Since you're getting Outrun2, you might want to check out Burnout 2. The Xbox version is the best, due to custom soundtrack support and various in-game extras, but the real attraction is the scoring system, which is performance- and twitch-based in an old-school way.
If you didn't play the PC versions of Deus Ex: Invisible War (more a first-person RPG rather than a FPS) and Thief: Deadly Shadows, they're both definitely worth their current $20-ish prices.
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a highly fun, lengthy, challenging, and clever third-person shooter.
Crimson Sea is a unique futuristic action-RPG by the Dynasty Warriors people.
Otogi's already been mentioned (I think the original, Myth of Demons, is better than the recent sequel, Immortal Warriors), and like Panzer Dragoon Orta, it's a must-play for the art direction alone. Gameplay is great, too, on both counts.
Sega's GunValkyrie is a beautiful, hectic experience, once you get used to the initially awkward controls. Naglfar's Pit is one of the best levels of this generation - the game's worth playing just for that.
So if he doesn't want to go online, why would he bother installing a mod chip? It's not as if I don't agree with you, but at least speak from experience if you're going to speak on it.Quote:

I don't follow your logic.. Are you saying that if he wants to go online, he should install a modchip?Quote:

No, he doesn't want to go online, so he doesn't need a modchip, unless MS has changed the newer Xboxes. If so, I'm wrong.Quote:
