Actually getting an Xbox..

what are you saying?
why does he _need_ a modchip to go online?

My roomate just bought an X-Box this weekend and bought Fable. From watching him play it it looks like a very neat game with a semi-decent replay value (there's a lot of different options on how you play your character and go through the game). Halo is cool but I'm not too down with FPS on consoles and Halo2 will be out soon (tommorow I think).

I do speak from experience. Like others in this thread have said, I am not following your logic, unless you're referring to the fact that he might be better off softmodding the Xbox with a hacked save file instead of paying for a mod chip (since he has no interest in going on Live).

Do you just not like standard FPS' or is there something about them in general that bugs you? Wondering because Riddick and Breakdown are pretty far from the standard FPS.

Breakdown is actually beatable. so by default it is not the most frustrating game ever made. its also a very fun and original game, and a bargain for the price its going for now im sure.

ever played the Adventures of Bayou Billy? way way way more frustrating, and thats on the second screen of level 1. :yuck:

Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden, Halo (just do it), Panzer Dragoon... all awesome games. all good reccomendtions above too.

Holy crap! You played an average of 12 hours a day for 25 days straight (that's the only way to rack up 300 hours in that time period)? Did you have no job and nothing to do all day??

Anyway, (back on topic) as for Xbox games I recommend Galaxy Angel if you can read Japanese. I enjoyed that game quite a lot when I had a JP xbox.

Was unemployed at the time. I was leaving for the month long England-Scotland thing on Dec 16th, and my goal was to get the TVR and have all Plats before that time. Last 2 took about 5 hours total, but I got it done on the 15th.

Played it far too much, but I always knew that if a game came along that was close to Ridge Racer online, I wouldn't leave the house.

My mod-chip shipped today, so that, new XB tomorrow and the 160 HD sitting in the corner are going to get some attention this weekend.
