seriously Cal Arts has the largest connectiosn in the industry, right now I really wish I had gone there and I'm really contemplating getting my masters from there now
In my city there is the PCAD-Plymouth Collage Of Art And Design.
I really couldnt tell you if they do Animation as a corse but i would think so being an art collage and all.
If not that theres also Cornwall collage (in Cornwall funnilly enough...)
Again im not sure but my mate just went there to do art.
I dont know about up manchester way though sorry.
There's a college near my house that Pixar hires from. I forget the name, but they said that the students they hire typically have the most robust and best demo reels.
MICA's another pretty good school where PIXAR does recruiting.
Also it should be noted that you will almost surely have to spend a great deal of your own time learning things. Nobody ever comes out with a demo reel or portfolio from just doing the bare minimum work the school requires. If you want to be better you'll have to apply yourself to it fully.

Cal Arts is cool. Art Center is also one of those 'in the know' places - you pay bank, and the same things are taught elsewhere, but it's all about prestige. In fact, a former Art Center instructor I know of says that you can go to CSULB and get same level of education in our art program as Art Center. And cheaper. MUCH cheaper.
Oh, and if you want hardcore animation on a budget, it gets no better than CSU Fullerton. They have an entire specialization in animation (both 3D and 2D), whereas Long Beach has traditional arts (fine art, illustration, design) with lackluster animation classes.
The school's job is to give you a foundation and fundamental or advanced knowledge of a subject. If you want to excel it'll take more than that. I'm sure there are sites on the internet which can help you out even more. Where do you work?Quote:
