1) Buncha my real-life friends are on it.
2) There is no 2. But it is kinda neat. I've developed tons of backstory about my character.

I tried to carry over the general TNL/world hatred of Night Elves, but I keep meeting hot ones at drunken parties.

It's not that different. Really the only difference between RP and Normal is they ask you don't talk about real-world shit on the general channel, and you don't name yourself "Ihumpdogs"

And back story. My character has no real back story besides "He appeared one day and started collecting things for people and helped one lady make goulash."

When I'm sitting around waiting for a party I sometimes like to start talking about me ol' mum or something like that. And you know when I do a trade I try to be all paladinish.

But 90% of the time we're talking about real-life shit on /g or /p or /tell

It's lame anyway. I like to think of myself as Gimli's descendant, but that just makes me another lame Tolkien fanboy.

I would have gone with the family of one of the dwarves from the Hobbit instead, but they were too thin for the most part. Best names though.

Aglarond - Named after the shimmering caves behind Helm's Deep. Whenever I need a fantasy name for something that isn't an original work, I just open the Silmarillion index.
