My faith in Wal-mart is somewhat restored after that story. I'd have to question anyone that would keep you on any payroll.

Just before DOOM 3 launched, we got word that a Wal-Mart in San Leandro (I think) was selling the game early. So I drove about forty miles there (I think it's the closest Wal-Mart to San Francisco) to enter the biggest hole of stupidity I've witnessed since riding the buses in Sacramento.
I don't know if all of San Leandro is completely retarded or not, but every single person within a mile radius of that Wal-Mart was some dumb-ass zombie. If Wal-Marts everywhere are like that, then I don't care how low their prices are--no thank you.
anyone notice how walmarts all have that certain smell, i can't precisely define it - its just the "walmart smell", you know it don't you? its not particular offensive... its just uncomfortable.
Yeah, Wal-Mart does have a distinct smell to it, one that was a bit more pungent tonight. It's probably a mix of uncleaned bathrooms and dirty "snack" areas.
That wouldn't have happened to be in Frisco, Colorado, would it?Quote:

The highway dumps right onto it and even without the fast food joints the road is dangerous and packed.
It started out as a "This isn't a good spot for a giant retailer" but quickly grew into a "Fuck Walmart" attiude because of the crap they and thier lawyers were pulling.
Nice, a thread for me to vent in.
Ok, so since I've moved in 98, the place I live in now is great and all, except they didnt mention the gigantic Wal-Mart 2 minutes down the street. It's huge. And not only is the building huge, but the amount of people that go there. I swear, every morning, there're soccer moms, old people, degenerates, you name it, lined up in front of the door at 8:50. It's always fun to laugh at them while I head to class, but still, it's really really sad.
I'm also one of the people that like to boycot the place, mainly because I can't stand all the people that shop there everyday. Of the people I know that have worked there, they say that the job is actually a bit of fun [like Sl1p said] but its the hoards of people that skirmish through the place that's the problem.
The thing about Wal-Mart is that there so huge they eat up other stores. In 2000 there was a huge chain grocery store across the parking lot of Wal-Mart with a little mini mall. It took WM a year, a year to buy them out, destroy the mini mall, destroy WM itself, make it twice as big and make a bigger parking lot. Mind you, my job is right next to the place so I always have shoppers rushing to gas up so they can get the best bargains there before it closes at 5. ugh.
For the many years I've lived next to a WM, I've only entered the place a near dozen times, and never to browse. Either a couple friends and I were starving and had to get some Mcdonalds, or there's a game in the electronics department that I can't really find anywhere else for the moment.
