Newsradio on DVD

I was wondering off hand if they were ever going to release this awesome show on DVD and did a quick amazon search and found this:

Apparently, it was going to be released "bare-bones" earlier in the year but was delayed when the shows creator found out about it and demanded time for extra features to be implemented - thus it was delayed and there still is no official release date (our retail report where I work listed it for 1st quarter 2005, a vague release date). Was anyone else a fan of this show? Seeing as how Seinfelds coming out on DVD tuesday I reckon I'd bring this one up, a truly under appreciated gem.

This is a funny show and Phil Hartman is awesome but I don't think I'd spend money to own it on DVD.

Yup, loved the show. Dave Foley and Stephen Root at their best. Sucks that the show went downhill after Hartman's death. I really loved it a lot.

Ugh, that thing has been on Amazon for over a year and a half. I really hope it comes out 1st quarter 2005.

yeah i think if all the dvd sets eventually came out i'd only buy the ones with hartmann on it anyway. I like what one amazon reviewer said, the show started out fairly normal, but as each episode went on it became more and more absurd.

Yeah, it was a great show, but I'm trying to be super picky with my DVD sets. I don't want to have a "collection" of TV shows I'd watch once then shelf.

While I love Newsradio, I don't know if it'd make the cut. Phil Hartman was genius, though.

My favorite eps, are the ones when phil turns his show into a shock radio type show, and creates anarachy on the streets.

Second fav, was th eone in the future.. "our hearts go out to the parents and families of all the brave soilders who died, at the death star today" something like that..

Great show, I hope they nail down a date soon. Matthew was a little annoying in the later episodes, but yeah, in general it was not as good after Phil died. Anyone remember the episode where Mr. James wrote the staff review? “Bill McNeal is adequate" :lol:

Yeah one of my favorite episodes was where matthew kept on seeing this quasi "hamburgular" and no one believed him... ah but there were so many great ones.

I can barely remember them aside from finding them hysterical. The only one that sticks out at all was during the heat wave when everyone was hallucinating and the boss just shrugged and fell out a window.

Anyway, I'd pick this up, they need to come out already.

I like having a few good TV show sets for times like when I'm eating. I won't be around long enough to watch a movie, I can't use my hands to play video games, and randomly turning on the TV tends to result in absolute crap being displayed on-screen. It's nice to have sets like this to pop on something good for that small amount of time.
