You really expect the Family Guy set to still be there? That'll probably be one of the first things to go in the movie section, although you might have a chance with ToS.Quote:

My weekend:
Buy shitty comp at Best Buy at 6AM.
Get home and go to sleep.
Wake up and go to work.
Come home and go to sleep.
Wake up, hit up best buy again, this time for a 160GB HDD, 9600XT and All-in-one printer.
Go to work.
Come home and go to sleep.
Yeah--shitty weekend.
The hour+ drive to and from work doesn't help any. The massive pay helps, though. :)
Interpol, I don't expect it to be there on Saturday, which is why I put the "or" in there. ToS I have a chance with, and Metroid being $13. Family Guy wouldn't be considered for a purchase now without that price, while the other things I mentioned are.
Ha!
I got to Best Buy---drove without heat in my car b/c the engine wouldn't even get hot it was so fucking cold.
Saw the huge fucking line. (easily over 300)
Got out of my car and felt how cold it was and how I would have to stand in it for 40 minutes.
Got back in my car.
I'm going to bed now.
Nothing is worth standing in line in that cold for an hour to not even be guaranteed anything AND have to deal with those assholes.
Got to EB this morning at 7 am.
There was only ONE worker there, who had no clue what the fuck she was doing. Waited in line for ten minutes while she rang up one customer, until the other guy finally showed up.
Line stopped for another 20 minutes when two mom's were at both register, seemingly making their lists and doing the shopping from the register.
"No, I think I want this. No wait, nevermind. How is this? Maybe I'll take that, I'm not sure, let's ring it up first. Let's ring it up again!"
In the meantime, there were these 4 dorks behind me, arguing very loudly over the new slim ps2. They also argued about the size of the Xbox, and about Halo 2 vs Call of Duty, I think (yea, weird shit). It sounded like 12 year olds fighting, but when I turned around, these guys had to be in their twenties, and they smelled like total crap.
In the meantime, the female employee didn't know the retail price of Sims 2, didn't even know Chronicles for Riddick for Xbox was released, and was generally stupid.
But it was worth it for Call of Duty and CoR.
My experience was just fine.
Got to CC around 5:58, grabbed a complimentary donut, doors opened, went looking for pearl white GBA SP. I was informed I'd have to go to the cashier, did so (there was no one there yet, LOL @ browsing), got it, bam, next store.
Traveled to Target, walked in around 6:30, picked up Simpsons season 4 and Tales of Symphonia. It was pretty dead in there, the mad rush of 'ZOMG GOTTA BE THERE AS SOON AS THEY OPEN' shoppers had already come and gone and anyone who wasn't one of those people wasn't up yet. Checked out at the electronics counter (also no one waiting), done.
Went to EB down the street, they didn't open 'til 7, so I waited in the car and played Metroid Zero Mission on my new SP. Went in and got the last copy of Riddick, which was a gut ... Not that I care too much about guts, but you would think they'd get a couple of copies of a game they feature in the motherfucking day after thanksgiving sale ad. I'd be pissed if I was the person coming in at 7:05 for it. But I got it, so whatever, fuck 'em.
So, 3 stores (2 big stores), all pretty far apart from each other, in about an hour, closer to 45 minutes if EB had been open when I first got there. On the day after Thanksgiving. Not too shabby.
Moral of the story; go early, know exactly what you want, get it, and get the fuck out. Repeat until shortly after daybreak at latest, then stay the fuck off the roads for the rest of the day.
Hey, lucky for you, I just realized my copy was fucking used, you can see where the used stickers on the case used to be and how they tried to scratch them off but it left residue.Quote:

But I don't give a shit, the game looks fine and used copies go for 25 anyways, so I still win.
i slept in this morning, drank way too much last night for any shopping business - not that i'd have shopped otherwise. Anyway, i saw the lines on the news - madness people... madness.
This is wise advice. :chunobi:Quote:

I also waited in line for a good 45-60 minutes (I lost track of the time) just so I could purchase a $10 copy of Metal Arms for myself and a few CDs for family members.
EB Games was much better. I arrived 10-15 minutes after they opened and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out, but vehicular traffic was nonexistent since the stores surrounding it (Borders and TJ Max) were still closed. Without any line-waiting hassle, I picked up the following games for a total of $23:
Tetris Attack, The Legend of Mystical Ninja, Captain America and the Avengers (Genesis), Icewind Dale II, Diablo II, and Morrowind.
I may head out to another EB Games after all the early bird sales end and the traffic dies down a bit.
All in all, this is definitely the best Black Friday deal I've gotten since Best Buy's storewide $9.99 CD sale a few years ago.:tu:
