This appears in a free weekly called the New York Press. It's pretty much the anti-Village Voice. Aside from the articles being much more readable, the comic strips (well, 2 of them) are pretty damn good. Perry Bible though is pretty fucking fresh.

The best ones involve personification (e.g. The Hammer husband finding a screw on his wood plank wife--cut to scene with Hammer husband beating the shit out of Screwdriver guy)

I was wondering what this was after someone posted two of them in the Live Journal images thread. (Now that I think of it, I should've just looked at the source.) This stuff is great.

I love the wide range of mixed art styles, but man could this guy use a writer.

Honest question - can you explain that strip I posted? What I see is like Ziggy, except one guy has a sword and he's crying.

A guy waits and trains to avenge his father's death and his disciple takes advantage of that by setting up a surprise party. I thought it was pretty funny, maybe you didn't, and of course it sounds retarded once you have to explain it.

This is fantastic.
