Step by step breakdown:
1) Took it apart.
2) Locked tabs into place (following an online tutorial to the letter).
3) Put PStwo back together.
4) Used Swap Magic to play the shit out of ESP Galuda, and Drummania for a few hours.
5) Went to bed.
6) Woke up.
7) Playstation doesn't read discs of any kind. US, Jap, PS2, PSX, legit, bootleg.
8) Playstation = glorified memory card managing station.
9) Fuck that.
Did you re-open it and check if anything came apart/undone?

Yeah. Everything appears fine inside.
Its all very upsetting.
Guess I'll sell it to a parent (who hopefully wont read the description) on ebay.

Is the laser dead? This is a problem with the pstwo.
I took a PS2(1) apart once and swore to never again take apart any Sony product with the intention of putting it back together. Cheap piece of shit. :P

Wasn't a chip. I just taped down the switches to make the ps2 think the drive is closed all the time (swap disc fun).
Now the entire drive assembly is dead for no reason. Disc no spin. Laser eye no move.
