The Port Authority bowling alley has a decent one. I think most of the Broadway crowd went back there.Quote:

It pains me that they never took my suggestion of tying cans of spray-on deodorant to the DDR, PPP and PIU machines.Quote:

i think you're thinking of Smiles. still around, but i haven't been there in well over a year now. last time i remember, it was drawing a crowd of OTB rejects because of this pony racing sim, Derby Racer or some shit.Quote:

I think Smiles was shut down. Was this the one in Flushing at the Flushing mall? Because the place has opened and reopened a bunch of times with a different name. That might have been Carom Cafe or something.
no, Smiles is right next to the Whitestone Expressway. i don't know what the one in Flushing Mall was called but i remember there (back when it first opened) being jack shit except for an MvC2 cab, and 50 PIU's. how they got the PIU's in that one room is beyond me. Korean's are crafty bitches. there's also another section of FM that does have a few fighting cabs and it's located behind that stupid stage.Quote:

There's a place called Barcade? I just thought Revoltor made a typo (Barcode).
And everyone knows the only real hardcore arcades left in NYC are in Chinatown. But I'd check this Barcade place out, sounds pretty cool.
Barcade is pretty sweet. Its only about 5 blocks from my apartment, so if anyone is heading there, drop me a PM and we can meet up for some drinks.
Shit, I'm down. Possibly within the next week or two. I'll let you know.
Long Island has a few bastions for arcade players, so normally I wouldn't go into the city to play something. But if you cats wanted to, say, organize a meeting around Barcade then I'd be up for that.
Yeah, LI is a wasteland as far as arcades go.
well, you can always take the 7 to Main St. and then transfer to the Q34 (get off at the stop before, or the stop in front of Whitestone Lanes). but then that's just more work than it's worth.Quote:

What are some decent hot spots for live music in the city? Doesn't have to be a national act or anything.Quote:

Except DiffusionX. He's not invited.
July is pretty good for me.
Any of those things going on at Webster Hall ever any fun?

No.Quote:

Whatever. Sounds good to me, Johnny-boy.
Let's actually try to get more people to turn up this time. I mean, I missed the last one, didn't only 3 or 4 people show? I'd prefer it more like the first one, where so many of my fans flocked to see me.
Hmmm, on July 22nd-24th, Im gonna have a bunch of old friends from Buffalo in town visiting, so I dont know if I'd be able to make it.
If earlier, then anytime is good, so long as its on a friday or saturday. A Saturday is preferable because I'm starting post production on a TV series tomorrow, and my hours are going to be crazy for the next six months. But I do have Saturday and Sundays off.
Also, if it was a saturday, we could get together earlier in the day, and take it on through the night. The Alligator lounge is the place Shin John is talking about. They give you a free brick oven pizza thats pretty sizable with every drink you buy. We could hit them up for dinner, then walk a few blocks and go to Barcade, and play some older 25 cent arcade games and proceed to get drunk out of our minds.
As always, anyone is more than welcome to stay at my place, that has a long commute back home and doesnt want to worry about making the train in time.
I'm down for whenever the date is settled on.
Same here.Quote:

And for the record, I don't have too many male friends around me, so I'd probably want to hang out with TNLers on my 21st birthday as well.
It's my cousins wedding. She's marrying another chick up in MA.Quote:

I'll try to make it. I won't be 21 until September though.
ok so the 16th is out then, and Mezz is busy on the 23rd, the 30th I have testing for my next rank in aikido so I wouldnt be able to meet up with you guys till that evening if you go then,
how does august look for people
maybe the 6th or 13th of august
I'd like to try and plan it on a day when as many people can come as possible
I think saturday afternoon into saturday night kind of thing would be cool chill at some different places during the afternoon then hit up a bar or bars at night
Fine for me. I don't really plan things out that far in advance so I'm free whenever.Quote:

Yeah, this would be a great idea. That way, a lot of people can come no matter what. Just when its time to hit the bars later at night, those under 21 would be out of luck. But at least we could hang for awhile during the day.Quote:

Barcade just got a Star Wars and Gyruss cab.
Sounds good to me. Consider me in.
September 3rd works.
September 3rd works for me too. Lets rock it out, shall we? Barcade works, then we can head for free pizza afterwards.
Lets do this!
Hold on, where to on that day? I should be free.
same meeting place the bookshop under Madison Square Garden? what time works for every one?
so is this gonna happen tomorrow or not?
I was wondering the same thing. I've kept my schedule empty for after 5pm tomorrow just in case, but nobody has really said anything about it.
FUCK! I can't do it tomorrow.
Next Saturday I'm free for sure. Promise! We really need to nail down a date and agenda in advance, or it'll be like last time when only 3 people (including not me) showed up.
You guys suck at this.
I don't see YOU trying to organize this thing, cunt.
Heh, I'm at school.
I'd go, but look at my age. OWNED!

only thing I say is that for the place, lets make it the newstand/bookstore under MSG same place we usually meet
This saturday is also no good for me since I'm going to see Colin Quinn. Next Saturdays sounds good since the Dave Attel show got pushed back.
I'm gonna be out of town that weekend. Have a friends wedding to go to in Providence, then going to Cape Cod until Tuesday.
Some friends and my girlfriend are trying to workout something of a open bar party at one of the places in Williamsburg on the 24th. It started out as a big birthday party for like 4 people, with everyone inviting everyone they knew, but its started to turn into a benefit for Katrina. Its still in planning stages, so I dont know whats going to happen, but if its going to go down when I think it is, all of you guys are very welcome to come, enjoy lots of drinks, and otherwise have a great time. That would be a nice little TNL get together, I would think. A HUGE PARTY.
Sounds good to me. That spot seems to be the only constant in our plans.Quote:

That sounds pretty cool. Even if we do it the 17th, I might come by for that, too.Quote:

On Sept. 24th, there is this place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that has a huge backyard with a grill. We got in contact with the place, told them we wanted to have a party there, and it all went well. We didnt get really any kind of drink special, but the place is pretty cheap for around here ($3.00 beer, $5.00 drink). We are putting together an e-vite for it, so if you want to get that, send me your email address via PM. If not, I'll post the details in this thread anyways.
Should hopefully be a good amount of people, and a great time. Everyone is invited, since everyone is inviting all the people they know. It seems like it would be a good time for all, in theory.
Details forthcoming.
I'm all for hanging o ut on the 17th and then again on the 24th for the huge bash
whose up for that?
I was thinking the same thing.Quote:
