Well actually they aren't a Halo 2 clan first and formost. At the Penny Arcade Expo they played RAinbow Six 3 and kicked one teams ass in 40 seconds (thank you EGM). Basically they play whatever and since Halo 2 has a clan feature they made one.

I had no idea they were getting paid for being attention whores in relation to video games, but now that I do know, I don't care. They're still just known for being attention whores and not known for being good at video games. That was the initial gripe, but of course you didn't notice that. It is awesome and you could pick a worse company to play games from too. They're getting a cool gig doing something most people already do (albeit it better than some) and that makes then fortunate, but they shouldn't compare themselves to people who do the same thing and got there because of real skill (people like Fata|1ty) not because they're pretty, and pretty good.

Fata|1ty is the everything champ. He's just good at any DM FPS (doesn't play CS or Halo though). Thresh is just old.

CPL needs to offer more incentive for Halo tourneys... $50,000 to a team (add up transportation, accomodation, entry. divide the prize by 5 and multiply the cost times 5 and you've got little motivation to plan your year around Halo CPL even though I'm sure I can win). Pro-gaming is a fairy-tale for the most part.

Yea, Thresh is from from years ago, but I stopped following PC games for awhile after that. I remember he used to have his own PC Gamer column for awhile.

Coming back into it though, the first thing people talk about when they mention DM is Fata|1ty... even think he has a video card he endorsed coming out soon, from ATI. The man's record is impressive, indeed.

Was this recent? Because other than this Halo 2 thing, I've still never seen them mentioned in regard to an Ubisoft game.

And why would Ubisoft get a bunch of chicks to promote all it's hardline military games to begin with anyways? I guess Tom Clancy's name isn't as big a draw as it used to be, because I know when I think of Rainbow Six I don't think of a group of hot chicks.

Wouldn't that give them more cred'? I mean, if they were payed solely to whore out Ubisoft products, and you've never seen them do so, wouldn't that imply that they actually are a somewhat legit team. Well, some really good clans have sponsors. I talked with Nokia (of all things) about a sponsored gaming clan... but they wanted it for N-Gage Arena =(

"Pro-Gaming" as it stands is like a comination of PGA and NASCAR. Like PGA in the sence that if you're not winning you're ending up worse off than when you started (also like NASCAR to a degree) and you have to play A LOT and like NASCAR in that the only way (it's becoming like this) to compete is to get good as an amature and find a sponsor to cut down the down-right irresposible risks of even trying to "go pro." It's lots of money, time and almost no compensation for performing well (winner take all most of the time, if you're second-best you really are the first loser, no silver medals here).

Fatal1ty is the world Q3A and UT2K3 champion, and most likely soon to be UT2K4 champion, all in Deathmatch. He has a god damned super team (See: All champion players) that are now into the CS scene. I wish I could remember their name, but from what I remember up to a few months ago, they were dominating.

I once had the (dis?)pleasure of going 1v1 against him in UT2K4. I held my own for the most part (See: 3-10), but Jesus...if you even give him clean pixel to fire at, you're dead. The man has insane accuracy that most could only dream of.

Also, in becomming a pro gamer (Since I looked into it a bit when I was a hardcore UT kid) it's a lot like becoming a pro skater. You hang around LAN areas, you win their tournaments, when you start moving regional you ask the shops (In my case, Rivalution) to sponser you, and then you just go from there. But like someone else said, it's a fairy-tale for the most part.

Other then that Azn chick, all these girls are butt ugly. All of their pictures look air brushed and they're all wearing a bit too much blush. It just feels unatural and downright lame. It'd be a bit more acceptable if they had pics of them just hanging out and gaming, not some lame photo shoot with them holding GBA's.

I think they're whoring out the "Look at us, we're girls that play video games" skit a bit too much. Every girl I know plays games, they just don't run around downtown with wet Bungie tees.

So they played against the Bungie staff and lost all 3 times. I'm pretty sure the Bungie team was laughing at them on the side and actually gave them some frags. This is such a huge gimmick but I don't really hate it, I just find it lame. The fact that they have to let us know that "THEY HAVE PLAYED A COUPLE GAMES OF UBISOFT" gives them the Honorary medal of Experienced Gamers. jigga please.

He's consistantly great, I played him on DM17 in Q3 1v1 (5 - 13 was my best, he once kept me to one kill) but there were others there that beat him more than once. He's got a consistantly good game though, one of the people who beat him (DiadoraQ3M), was someone I played and beat routinely.

the only bad thing i see about them is 1)they havn't really proven any type of skill yet.2)None of them have ass or hips.

Ah yes, you've pointed out why I hate these sorts of teams and "girl" promotions. A. Without UBI throwing down some sponsorship no one would hear of them and b. their skills (great as they may or may not be) are not on display. Throw up some match vids and I'll be impressed, photos... well this is the freaking internet, there's girls of all sorts on display here.

THAT is impressive. I remember they had something along those lines at MacWorld last year. If you beat one of the UT2K4 designers at a DM round, you win a copy before the game comes out for mac.

I don’t hate any of the Fragdolls. But one thing I do hate from the majority of female clans out there is how sexist they are. Seriously, I can’t believe some of us girls feel the need to rub in guys’ face how they got fragged by a girl or comments like this…

Sorry FD for quoting this from your site. That’s just the main issues that I have with female gaming clans. I don’t care if you girls put pictures of yourself wear sexy clothes, flirt, mess around, etc…who cares about that is not like the majority of girls don’t do it anyways. We discussed this yesterday. I would have found it better if they really would not mention their skill at all and just play. Their ratios online are like 27 wins out of 255 games, wow. Not that that's terribly bad, but they brag so much about how they can TAKE. YOU. ON that you'd expect more.
