But at least this time, be it Snake or Big Boss, it still be a Snake figure, with Snake's style, move set and tactics. Unlike Raiden who looked and played differently from Snake.Quote:

Actually, you're wrong! They did showed Raiden in one of the trailers prior to the game's release. He was seen briefly in the TGS2001 trailer, but not outside of his scuba gear. Also, an action figure site accidentally revealed Raiden's name when they were taking pre-orders for McFarlane's MGS2 action figuresl line.Quote:

It's the original Snake himself, Naked Snake, aka Jack, aka the future Big Boss.
Two seconds in his scuba gear doesn't really count.Quote:

Of course, to people who never played the original NES game, the fact that this IS Big Boss won't mean shit. I mean, BB is dead and almost forgotten in the current MGS series.

Exactly. Metal Gear Solid 1, while a great game, felt more like a series of interconnected mini-games because it was constantly broken up by 10-20 minute long story segments. I love a good story as much as the next guy (MGS1 had a pretty good story, but MGS2 was retarded, and 3 looks like it could go the same way), but I'd prefer the gameplay experience to be a bit more seemless, especially since it does play so goddamn well when you're actually allowed to play it, as opposed to just watching it.
I hardly think that's the case. He might be dead, but they still make tons of references in the current Metal Gear Solid series. If anything, he is the only character in the old MSX games not appearing in the MGS who's presence is still significant in the series to warrant a Shinkawa-drawn illustration of him in the original MGS. I mean Dr. Petrovich was the original inventor of Metal Gear, but you hardly hear him mentioned in the current games and now his title will be taken away by Granin and Sokolov.Quote:

anywhere to direct download a hi-res TGS trailer? that streaming one from the main MGS site is pretty lagged.
