Well if they did one more game featuring Big Boss there is a slight chance that he could make it? I don't remember how old he was in MSG but let's say they set it up around where they start useing Big Bosses DNA.Quote:

From what I've read in magazines like EGM and PSM, Hideo would much rather do a sequel than another prequel. And that's if he even continues to be heavily involved in future MG games which is iffy since he seems to want to hand off the reigns to a protege or a well trusted project leader.Quote:

Barring Ocelot's ominous continued presence in the MGS games, Liquid is really the only returning villain that seems forced especially living on as a hand. I guess that can be chalked up to the more outlandish sci-fi elements the MG games tend to have.
As for the Patriots and their beginnings, MGS3 goes over that in it's cinemas and some codec sequences. Their formation wasn't that exciting but they should definitely be the key villains in the next MGS game as well as some type of weapon against G.W. since Dead Cell, and The Patriots along with the help of Arsenal Gear unleashed a type of digital "Pandora's box" with that part of the plot.
I'd rather G.W. be ignored and be looked at as just some computer sputtering jibberish than having it around as another threat in the shadows. It comes off to me as an obviously heavy handed philosophy about human traits, the information age, smart A.I. and basically just Hideo Kojima using G.W. as his avatar.
G.W. reminds me alot of the comic book villain 'Sublime' (a mutant hating bacteria...I kid you not) from Grant Morrison's New X-Men. It was basically an ever present but intangible threat to the X-Men throughout the entire run until shit hit the fan at the end of the run and the entity had to be wiped out of existence by a reborn Jean as the Phoenix (who died again).
There were too many ideas at once with MGS2 when he should have kept things more grounded in human perception and events happening on a human level like his better works show in MGS3 and MGS. I think that if MGS2 took out or severly downplayed the G.W. codec scenes with Raiden it would have been a much better game storywise and felt more satisfying without having some piece of the story niggling away in the back of people's mind for them to decipher.
I was only saying that be it a sequel or a prequel it's pretty sure it will be called MSG4, that's all.
Doesn't the patriots take place after MGS3 (it was a long time since I played MGS2 and it got pretty hectic this weekend so I might have mixed up some things about MGS3)? I thought Big Boss had a hand in the patriots.
