To be honest, I'm really impressed at the ratio of cut scenes to gameplay. I think this can be attributed to the fact that you really have to spend your time to get through an area unscathed, but the areas are huge as well. I would almost go as far as to say the ratio of cut scenes to gameplay is better than the first MGS. The main reason for this is that you dont spend nearly as much time getting random, long winded calls on your codec every few steps.
The story is exeptional so far, and really reminds me of the first Metal Gear (not Solid).
If there is one complaint that I have, its:
They dont really expand on the Cobra members. They have no character development at all. In fact, you dont even see one of them, or have any knowledge of him at all until he appears and thats The Fury. But that was one of the coolest boss battles of the series so far. Great atmosphere, and I thought he was the coolest looking Cobra I've encountered.
When you do beat them, they dont even fill you in on what they are all about, they just yell alot, then blow up, and you move on
