Over the weekend I went to Chicago with a friend of mine to pick up some furniture from his mother's place and load it into the van. His wife is expecting a baby next June, so a baby bed was part of the load. On Saturday we had dinner at Todai- this was my 2nd time there. The sushi was generally not as good as the last time- while the smoked salmon (sake) was not bad, the unagi was sort of dry. All the hot foods and the Tokyo Ramen soup were right as rain. Even if the sushi went a tad downhill, this place is still a go.
GameWorks at the Streets of Woodfield was okay- nothing earthshattering. Surprisingly they had a couple Neo-Geo games: Metal Slug 5 and SVC Chaos. MS5 was priced at a VERY steep $1.50 (I am not kidding). There's even a F-Zero AX- I wish I would've brought my card for that game along. Unfortunately a lot of games there need some repair- the 4P Warzaid was missing one of the guns, and the Namco Classics Vol. 2 had loose controls on the left player side.
Before heading back home Sunday, we went shopping at Mitsuwa Marketplace- a very nice Japanese supermart. I picked up several kinds of green tea, some instant gohan (rice), rice crackers, and a couple cans of ginger salmon (great stuff).
