Following the successful
Final Fantasy orchestral performance in Los Angeles this May, Square Enix today announced plans for a full-blown American tour. Beginning in the Chicago area on February 19, the publisher will present a series of orchestral and choral performances of Nobuo Uematsu's compositions from the popular RPG series. The Chicago concert, at the Rosemont Theatre, will be performed by the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra and the CPO Festival Choir, as conducted by Grammy winner Arnie Roth.
Tickets are on sale via
Ticketmaster or over the phone at 312-559-1212, as well as at the Rosemont Theatre box office. VIP tickets are available for this particular event, granting a few attendees access to a special meet-and-greet session with Uematsu before the concert.
"The first FINAL FANTASY concert in the U.S. brought fans from far and wide together in Los Angeles to share in an unforgettable musical experience," said Ichiro Otobe, the new president of Square Enix's American division. "We are pleased to announce that, due to the overwhelmingly positive response, a North American tour will soon bring the emotionally moving and powerful scores to fans across the country."
Square Enix has yet to confirm how many shows will be on the 2005 tour, or what other venues it might reach, but we'll be sure to bring the news along as soon as it arrives.
