Do they get paid by the amount of spam they generate? I thought the concept of making money on the internet via advertising was outdated years ago?

No, look, the spam firm charges x amount for y bulk e-mail plan. If like, two people get that spam and are stupid, x is paid for in full. Same thing with junk faxes and phone calls and everything. If you get three customers from a junk transmission, you are teh win.

What gets me is people who order those penis products. You hear a commercial for a week promising a 10" penis GUARANTEED OR YOUR MONEY BACK, and then poof, they're gone. That means enough people paid for the advertisement and the shitty sugar pills and now the company will pop up a few weeks later with the same crap under a different name. There's no money given back.

The only way telemarketers can get your cell phone is if you give it to like, Electronics Boutique or something.
