Evangelion Ipods from Bandai

Bandai Networks will release a limited edition iPod with the "NERV" mark, the name of the special organization in the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Production will begin o?nce 1,000 orders are received, and sale will be limited to 2,000 units. Including an enamel case and headphones, the set will cost 47,250 yen.

Apart from a 20GB iPod with the NERV mark laser-engraved o?n the back, a white and dark blue enamel case, headphones, LCD protector, and wheel film is included -- all accessories also depict the NERV mark.

Of course, the iPod itself and its accessories still feature the coloring scheme revolving around white. The particularly interesting white enamel case, however, gives the impression of a Plug Suit, and the red and blue threads give the impression of "Ayanami Rei."

Although the order periodÊis scheduled to begin from midday December 22nd and last until January 16th, they will be closed when the orders reach 2,000 units. Orders can be obtained from the company's "LaLaBit Market" shopping site, or the cellular phone "Bandai Chara Store." Shipment is scheduled for March of next year.

Bandai also released 1,000 units of the the "G-SHOCK THE G 'EVANGLION AYANAMI REI MODEL'" in April of this year, and sold the entire inventory in a single day.

I like them--its not overstated like a big bleeding Rei all over the front or anything.

fucking awesome. I mean, I don't know if buying one would make me a "bad person" (Read: something I can't say in Sound Off) but it's definitely cool.

And yeah, a big bleeding rei would make this shitty. That's what the teenage ipod mini should have on it though.

needs more flashing diagrams/menus and incomprehensible techspeak. but i'd still kill for one.

Read the article--that's just the enamel case--I don't think magnets are good for the iPod.

No, that part on the right seems to be another cover to go over the NERV iPod.
That is pretty damn cool. If I liked Eva, I'd be all over this.

By magnetic plastic I meant like the kind it comes wrapped in from the factory that says, "PLEASE DON'T STEAL MUSIC" on it.

Actually looks pretty swag, I thought it was going to be gaudy or overdone.

Pretty cool, too bad iPods weren't around when they made EVA, would have been no-brainer product placement to have Shinji listening to this on the train.

Would have been cooler were it all black with SEELE 01 <SOUND ONLY> on it.
