I really hope they at least try to revamp the engine a little. Everything's starting to get a little dated.
maybe a more complex fighting system? It's my wet dream to have a dynasty warriors type game with soul calibur II style fighting and tremendous enemy variety.
I sincerely hope they decide to put the Japanese voices as an option back into the game, the English ones for DW4 made me want to jab toothpicks in my ears. Also I hope they don't get any bright ideas regarding the mediocre indoor levels from Samurai Warriors and try and migrate those over as well.
A little more variety and strategy would definitely be nice, DW4 Empires was a step in the right direction. I enjoy playing a DW-style beat 'em up every year but the series really does need a facelift pretty badly.
They are all really starting to sludge together. Its getting tiresome and old. They really need to do something drastic with something in this series. Perhaps make a fantasy off shoot, something very dark. I dunno, its a neat game but its all the same.

Japan has such shitty taste in games.
Their biggest genres are turn based role-playing games and square-button mashfests.
Not like the US's or Europe's are much better.
Anyway, Dynasty Warriors is probably the only franchise I've ever seen get so little slack for churning out title after title with little immediately noticable difference, regardless of if each title is a rehash or not. Many more unique franchises get shit on for the same thing, even with less sequels.
