Dr. Who

I liked this show on PBS when I was a kid. I've noticed that a number of episodes are popping up on DVD now and I'm tempted to pick up a couple to relive those youthful memories. But looking at the boxes I'm kind of afraid that, now that I'm not a kid anymore, it'll, well...blow. Like, really fucking blow. Hard.

I seem to recall it being fairly cheesy and beyond low-budget. I remember them turning flashlights on and off and pretending they were lasers- you don't get more low-budget than that.

Anyone watch some old episodes recently? Is it any good when you're a grown-up?

I have the same question, only about Get Smart.

I saw episodes of Get Smart a few times a couple of years ago and still enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'll go check out both then. I can't remember details about either series, only that I enjoyed watching them as a kid.

Of course, I liked to watch the animated G.I. Joe shows as a kid too, and when I watch them now I can see they're crap.

I loved Dr. Who way back when. It has to be good, it just has to. Buy one, preferably one you remember was good, like "The Five Doctors."

P.S. Dr. Who was an emo kid, just look at his scarf.

I never saw Dr. Who, but Get Smart was a favorite of mine as a kid. I loved the characters, and the cars ruled. I doubt it's aged well though.

i know its expensive but Doctor Who - The Key to Time was the greatest saga in the doctor who timeline.. The Power of Kroll is my favorite episode of all time.
