iPod haxoring?

my 40 gig is also filled with seriously good music, with a further 20 gigs of music unputonable. And the piracy always continues, augmented with occasional purchases.

I used to drag 400 cd's/mp3 cd's with me at all times, in three huge cases that I stuffed into a backback. I know how it is. Having my zen (combination of being poor and not really liking the ipod or apple) for my last california trip was the most unbelievable awesome thing ever. And it remains so.

I read it wrong, then. I thought he said he was just going to replace the battery. Still, I don't plan to pay over $200 for any mp3 player.

I'm probably mistaken about your situation here, but if you have the Best Buy deal that they sold before Apple stopped them, if you take your iPod in and claim it unworking, they'll use what you've paid as credit towards a new model if the kind you had is no longer available. For example, when I got mine and got that deal, the 10GB I picked up was on its way out. So, I plan on waiting until the next revisions come around to the iPods, and then trade it back in and put that money towards a bigger unit.

Of course, unless you're going to be waiting at least a year to trade it back in, the 40GB will no doubt still be around, so they probably won't let you trade up.
