It may be a Christian tradition, but for the most part it is unfounded. There were quite a few things written about how the uncut gentiles are saved by their faith just as much as a cut converted jew is saved by his faith in Christ.

Circumcision was part of the old convenient and has nothing to do with being saved or fallowing Christ.
